Dammit! I thought he'd be the first one since Michael Jordan, 'Nique and Vince to bring something original to the dunk contest.

:x J-Rich sucks!

I hate the NBA's dunk contest now cause of stupid things they always do like only four particapants, three year rule (which doesn't let good dunkers enter the competition like Carter, T-Mac, R. Davis etc.) and they one year did the stupidest thing by adding a wheel. How are the dunk contests suppose to be good like in the 80's when they do something retarded every damn year. SHIT!!

From what I've seen of LeBron, I think he could have made the contest fairly exciting. At the very least, he wouldn't have taken anything away from it. Still, as long as the contest is going to consist of four competitors with two dunks per player in each round, it's not going to be as good as years gone by. Last year's contest was great, but still felt too short.

Damn shame, never going to get to see a Kobe, Tmac, Vince, Lebron, KG dunk contest. One statement explains it all: they are a bunch of pussies! They are all just scared of showing eachother up! The glory days of the dunk contest are over!

PROS and CONS of dunk contest:

PROS:
1. It's for the fans, who pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to watch these guys play!!
2.The shoe companies could really benefit from something like this
3. It's an exhibition of skill, strength, and creativity

CONS:
1. By some miracle a player gets hurt going for a blindfolded, backflip, 360 between the legs dunk :D

Please add some more pro's or cons if I missed any

I actually think I like "he gets off on another floor" better. It sounds cool.

What about "Vanilla Sky" as a nickname for Chris Andersen?

Anyway...to be honest...if I was Kobe or Vince...I wouldn't enter the dunk contest again either. I already entered and won...and if I entered and lost or embarrassed myself I'd just hurt my cred.

My point exactly.... they are scared! It's all about getting lit up and guys likes of Kobe and Tmac don't want to lose to the likes of Vince Carter who have rubber in his legs. If they didn't win their is a risk of being percived as a lesser player.

Umm Vince was thinking about entering this year but the league won't let him cause of the three year rule. How does that make Vince a pussy?

i dont think vince would've entered even if there was no 3 year rule. he would probably be saying something about his knee or ankle that he injured several weeks back.
