NBA Commercials

Postby Damien War on Tue Dec 16, 2003 1:06 am

Favorite: Nike cartoon commercials of 2000.
"Ankle breaking crossovers leave your joints jarred, picture in the dictionary under the point guard. Don't look now, catch it on the replay. Behind the back pass to myself to my teammate. I pull up off the ground and send it through the net. I got moves nobodies invented yet"- Jason Williams cartoon

Funniest: Reggie Miller Read to Acheive.
"I'm the cool cat, who read all that, every page from front to back."

Worst: Schitck Gel David Robinson and Tim Duncan.
"The Roses are out, Tim, not the DAISIES!!!"

Is everyone who plays for the Spurs a pansy?
No Phil, No Shaq, No Mailman, No Rudy, No Chemistry or Cohesivness....
AND?!!?

Oh Yeah, Kobe4Mvp. But "What happened to that boy" was definitely the right song for it, though.

i wouldn't say that duncan/admiral commericial is per say a 'nba commercial' but it is pretty sorry and i do wonder why networks still run that commercial even though it's a few a years old

Tmac saying he schools kids coming out of high school is strange, considering he came out of high school himself, plus his team is 4-20.

If you listen to that Tmac 3 commercial they redid some of the vocals. Instead of saying he will school highschool players coming to the league, he says "Scoring more than 50 points in a game this season and constantly losing isn't fun. I'd rather score less and get the W" or something to that effect. You get the idea thats round 'bout what he says

Not surprisingly, my favourites are the Young Jordan vs Old Jordan Gatorade commercial and the Jordan/Bird "Nothing but net" McDonalds commercial.

Good choices. Hey, who else thinks they should film a version of the "Young MJ against Old MJ" ad where Young MJ kicks his butt and doesn't let Old MJ score a basket, and then everyone feels sad and awkward? You know, kinda like the last two seasons? That would be my favorite NBA commercial.

Who's looking forward to the new Kobe condom adds?

Kobe Condoms: "Available in Purple and Yellow! Ribbed for her pleasure, whether she wants it or not!"

I used to like those old ads with Dikembe and Joe Dumars, where they draw up a play sort of thing. I think they might have been adidas ads. Mutombo is a crack up whether or not he is trying to be serious.

I don't remember those ads, though I do remember a Mutombo shoe commercial where he blocks a shot, turns to the camera and says "Man does-a-not fly..." (African tribal drums) "...inthehouseof Mutombo!"

The ads I'm talking about have Mutombo blocking a shot, and then talking about how his shotblocking can start up a play. They freeze the screen after his blocks the shot, then he talks or whatever, and arrows run along the screen showing the options after his blocked shot. Then the screen un freezes and the Nuggz run the break and someone dunks. Anyway, it's something along those lines.

They had a different one with Joe Dumars... it might have been something to do with team work.
I'm getting flash backs but nothing concrete :)

I also liked that ad (it was a little more recent) where MJ is playing the Lakers in slow motion, he spins to the hoop and jams. They're showing something else in between his move I think, can't be sure, I have it somewhere on tape...

If it's the one I'm thinking of, there's people on treadmills watching the game, and they also slow down when MJ's move goes into slow motion. There are also shots of other people moving in slow motion in between each part of the move.

Fun Police by far.

In a close second comes one I can't believe no one has mentioned so far, Mars Blackman!!! "It's gotta be the shoes," "Don't leave me hanging! I have all of them on my comp somewhere."
