That's too bad, I always liked Frank Johnson, especially after he got in Jordan's mug in the '93 NBA Finals.

I'm really sure how this helps the team because it's not Frank Johnson's fault the Suns are losing. The are not healthy right now and the effort from players isn't there, but I don't think the coach should be punished for that. Nate McMillian appears to be the next coaching casuality.

Wow, i am suprised. Why arent some of these players benched instead of the head coach taking all the blame. Thats fucked imo.. Team management over reacts way to quickly these days.. and people wonder why basketball is poor at the moment, surely all the new systems coaches bring in and try to implement takes time..

I agree with Matthew. Teams really don't seem to have any patience with coaches anymore. Firing a coach isn't a surefire solution either. The Magic have only just broken their losing streak, and it's been a few weeks since Doc Rivers was shown the door.

yes i got this one right too....he isn't living up to the expections...next coach is Nate McMillian of the Sonics or Byron Scott of the Nets...

I wonder if you feel Cartwright was canned to early?

Doc Rivers suffered a 3-1 collapse in the playoffs and won one of what 19 games? Someone had to take the blame for this, John Gabriel the GM may have been saving his own job by dumping Rivers.
Honestly I think if you have McGrady, you must find a way to win.

Phoenix came back from 29 down against Boston, but that was them down by 29 and then lost to the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat, it also goes back to the Spurs series last season, a series that the Phoenix front office is still very upset about losing.

I think Eddie Jordan of Washington and Paul Silas of Cleveland should also be watching their backs, along with Nate McMillan and Byron Scott as mentioned.

Everyone who read the rumor mills and watched ESPN knew about Johnson of Phoenix.

the team had a disapointing start before the injury to stoudemire. i think johnson would have been fired anyway if stoudemire was healthy.

in the sun's case- with the exception of joe johnson, i don't think you can bench any of their starters. their bench is one of the league's weakest

and in terms of being patient, i don't think the suns management or fans have that mindset. especially after improving greatly and almost upsetting the spurs last year in the playoffs.

sucks for johnson to be the fall guy but that's just how it goes. it's a players league. an 8-13 start for a team that's expected to make some noise in the playoffs was screaming for a change. at least the guy stepping in, d'antoni, has nba coaching experience

lol, for everybody that boldly predicted this was going to happen, don't break your shoulder patting yourself in the back
