I got Nuggets over clippers right and lakers in 5 over nuggets so I'm hoping for another correct response

Heat will win 1 or 2 but Lakers will adjust. Lakers in 6

Also slightly disappointed by your funny choices

Dominant performance in game 1 highlighted by excellent 3 point shooting and a 45 point turnaround.

Hope the injuries to the Heat aren't bad

Our shooting showed up - FINALLY! The games wouldn't be this easy though, we're bound to fall back into sub30 shooting. Anyone saw Crowder's bitchass armbarring LeBron?

Shame what happened to Dragic, man.

Bam out, Dragic out, Butler hobbled. I can't see this ending up being a competitive series.

To that point, I'll say this. That doesn't mean this will be an illegitimate or invalid championship for the Lakers. You play who shows up, and it's still on you to get the job done. However, the Nick Wrights and Colin Cowherds of the world that are trying to paint the Lakers as underdogs and this being the toughest path to a championship anyone has ever had in order to glorify LeBron, are being absolutely ridiculous. This isn't the toughest road anyone has had to a title. It's not even the toughest road LeBron will have had to a championship. All that is absolute nonsense, trying to push a narrative while also crying about narratives like Nick Wright in particular has been doing.

Again, the seemingly inevitable Lakers' championship will be legit. However, they are by no means underdogs, and their competition in these Playoffs has not been historically tough. Their triumph is getting Anthony Davis and putting together a team capable of winning it all, not overcoming the greatest odds an NBA team has ever faced. Let's not perpetuate the narrative that the talking heads are desperately trying to push.

Someone on Twitter described Game 3 as Jimmy Butler's "Iverson in 2001" game, and I think that's apt. Pretty good day at the office when you can out-score, out-rebound, and out-assist LeBron James in an NBA Finals game; indeed, it's the first time that's happened. Like AI in 2001, I think it's ultimately going to be a win that simply avoids the sweep, but I admire the fight and competitiveness. The Lakers are too good, and would still be too good if the Heat were 100% healthy, so I still see it ending in five. Heat are doing themselves proud, though.

if they win the next match too, I think Lakers will complete one of the greatest team seasons in NBA history. there's no asterisk to that. Lakers dominated the West the whole season.

It's worth noting that the Lakers' record while LeBron was in the lineup last year wasn't good enough to make the Playoffs. After he declared "Playoff Mode Activated", they didn't exactly set the league on fire, either. Anthony Davis has made a huge difference, and he'll probably never get the credit he deserves for that.

Let's also not pretend that this is the toughest the West has ever been. For years, teams in the West were missing the Playoffs with winning records. One season, 50 wins wasn't enough to secure a spot in the top eight out West. That doesn't make this impending title illegitimate or an asterisk or anything else like that - I think that stuff is petty - but it isn't the tough path/underdog triumph that a lot of talking heads are desperately trying to paint it as.

For all the talk of how we get caught up in nostalgia and the past, a lot of people are prisoners of the moment. It's also fallacious to dismiss past criticisms that were accurate at the time, based on current events where circumstances have changed. For example, if someone is a career 40% free throw shooter, and then they suddenly have a breakout year where they're knocking down a bunch of them at an 80% clip, it doesn't retroactively make criticisms of them being a poor free throw shooter inaccurate. It'd be erroneous if someone was still making that claim following their improvement, but it's no less accurate in retrospect.

By the numbers, LeBron's path to the Finals in the East was easier than that of the teams coming out of the West. His path through the West this year is likewise easier than it was in previous years. Like i said though, the Lakers still had to show up and get the job done, and you can only play the competition that presents itself. A ring's a ring, but if anyone wants to assert that the Lakers are massive underdogs this year, or that this was an historically difficult road to a championship, that's simply not true.

Considering how quickly Clippers collapsed against Nuggets and their loss against Lakers right before pandemic, I don't believe that Clippers could eliminate Lakers if the matchup occured. Also, I don't think of a team that could destroy Lakers if they weren't eliminated, even Bucks/Celtics/Raptors from East. You need to have a complete team that could run against any types of defense/offense to win a championship. Most teams lacked either this (Bucks against Heat), or a positive atmosphere (Clippers?).

I don't think this is a historic run though. The championship would be a message for fans that acquiring stars/high lottery pick prodigies is not enough to win a title, also you need to set a fine team environment and culture. See how everyone in Lakers tries their best. If Miami had an extra 2-3 year experience, this series could be much more competitive.

History has definitely proven that. There have been some very talented teams that didn't win it all, because they didn't gel or their gameplan wasn't effective.

As much as I'm a fan of letting the dust settle, I do think that LeBron James vs. Jimmy Butler duel in the fourth quarter will go down as a classic, regardless of what happens from here. That back and forth made for a great NBA Finals game.

If I were a Lakers fan, I'd be more pissed at Morris squandering the extra possession right after Green's miss. About that shot - LeBron's pass was a great play, but it was slightly off. I bet that Green would have made it if the pass had been more accurate. Can't really blame LeBron for that, though. It was a tough 180 pass on a drive against two defenders. In the end, I'm satisfied with the outcome. The Heat deserved this one.

The low pass didn't help with Green's rhythm. Speaking of Green, I mentioned this on Twitter, but he's tough to figure out. He's made some big shots as a knockdown shooter, but at times he's looked like Josh Smith when he gets an open look; and not just this year, either.

I would have been okay with the loss had Morris shot the ball or got it back to Green or somehow got us a second shot instead of turning it over

Danny Green and his fiancee have been receiving death threats. Gross, pathetic, and any "fans" doing that need to take a long look at themselves in the mirror...if they can stomach it.
