Everyone has an off night, but given that he is at the very least a frontrunner for being the best shooter we've ever seen, it's weird to see him go 1/14. 0/9 from three.

Andddd Durant with the dagger.

Nobody on Cleveland can guard him, unstoppable when he's hitting his shots.

Rodney Hood gets a chance (Actually plays and actually gets the ball) and shoots 7 for 11 for 15 points in 26 minutes.

Durant's been on fire after that so-so shooting performance in Game 1 (where he still put up 26). Taking that Finals MVP trophy away from Curry.

Then again, we are in the age of giving an entire starting five Player of the Month, so why not Finals MVP, too?

If they sweep and Curry has a big game 4, he could still get it.

Either way, hope it ends in a sweep, will be nice to have the GS vs CLE finals reign end.

Durant sealed the FMVP with that dagger 3. Not many times you can say that LeBron lost the game for the Cavs, but here we are in Game 3 of the Finals.

Shoutout to Rodney Hood btw

Wow GSW. question for the series is who is the MVP?

I suppose the whistle can go in the Cavs favor and the series prolongs

Will be an exciting offseason!

Finals stats in the first 3 games:

Kevin Durant is shooting 56%/48%/96% while averaging 32 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 6.7 APG, 2.3 TO, 42.3 MPG

LeBron James is shooting 53%/36%/86% while averaging 37 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 10.6 APG, 4.6 TO, 46.0 MPG

The last two games:

Kevin Durant is shooting 68%/67%/100% while averaging 34 PPG, 11 RPG, 7 APG, 3.0 TO, 40.5 MPG

LeBron James is shooting 48%/30%/82% while averaging 31 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 12 APG, 4.5 TO, 45.5 MPG

In no way can LeBron, in a losing finals (Especially if it's a sweep) even be considered for MVP, when a player or players on opposing teams are putting up equally high numbers, or high numbers in general. Durant is not only beating him in every shooting category, but hes also beating him on RPG and is averaging half the TO. Also, giving an MVP to the losing team (If they end up losing) is ridiculous. That sets up a whole new standard for stat padding, lets give a player on a sweeped team an MVP... ugh. "You mean to tell me I can run up my numbers and still collect the hardware? Shit, I'll get right on it."

Also, you would consider him for MVP based on one monster stat game? When even factoring it in his numbers aren't really more impressive? In the last two games, Durant is shooting 68/67/100 while LeBron is shooting 48/30/82, and Durant is averaging more points/rebounds in 5 less minutes per game, and averaging less turnovers .... In no way, shape, or form has LeBron outplayed Durant this series. He had better stats in one game, but Durant has outplayed him in the series. Not only that, if the Warriors win the series, there is literally no debate to be had.

Beyond that, even though there's no official rule, it's more or less unofficially been established that it goes to the best performer on the winning team. Jerry West's win has come to be seen as an anomaly rather than a justifying precedent.

It feels like they should be up more with the way they're shooting, but that's the start the Warriors wanted.

Looks like the sweep is inevitable.

They might give the MVP to Curry because Durant won it last year. But both have a case for it.

Time to move onto what will be a very interesting offseason. I predict James and George go to the Lakers.

Before the season draws to a close, I just wanted to add one more reminder that the Bulls traded away Jordan Bell for essentially nothing. Thanks GarPax!

Good sportsmanship from LeBron as he was being taken out with four minutes left. I enjoy heated rivalries, but I like seeing that too. Compete hard, shake hands when it's done.

Series comes to a predictable end.

I wonder if the people who call Westbrook a stat-padder will have anything to say about Curry chucking up shots in the second half, as he tried to win Finals MVP. It didn't work

Disapponted. Would have been more of series if the Cavs took the game 1.

Well, grats the Warriors. Curry with 3 rings now KD 2 and still counting.

Oh, he was definitely gunning for it. He forced up a couple of bad shots when Durant was wide open on consecutive plays.

Oh totally, his 37 points wasn't enough though.

That's shows how scary that team is, though. They knew they were going to win, and I believe they told Curry to "go get it", and just let him fire. They knew from the tip that they had nothing to worry about.

I don't think LeBron goes if George doesn't (Unless he can recruit another high caliber all star). Paul George would be the best bet in that scenerio, but I'm not sure he would go either without the opportunity to play for a title (a la, with LeBron or another all star).

Most boring finals of the last 10 years IMHO. Even though we had those very close games, everybody knew deep inside Cavs had no real chance
