i fully believe that for the right price every single player is trade able so taking calls is fine if you ask me. hell the cowboys were built from trading walker which seemed like a crazy idea. there was a report out there saying the knicks offered him for the celtics 3rd pick and the celtics said no. if that was true both jackson and ainge should have been fired on the spot

"I think we know what we're doing."

Those words would carry more weight and be a lot more believable if they were uttered during Phil's heyday as a coach. Not enough goodwill, not a good enough track record to sell Knicks fans on that one.

A fair point, but I think it's more about him tipping his hand, and acting as though he's got a long history of shrewd details.

usually you dont admit to taking offers so you dont piss off the player in case nothing happens but in this case he already hates phil so why not put it out there and let the bidding war begin?

80-166, constant coaching changes, giving Anthony a no-trade clause, Noah's contract, bringing in players that can't run his system, undermining Hornacek during practice, keeping Kurt Rambis, using social media to trash Carmelo.....yeah Phil knows what he's doing.

The one time Dolan doesn't meddle, and the front office is still dysfunctional.

He reportedly wants to draft Josh Jackson.

We throw in #3, Crowder, Smart, 2018 BOS pick, 2019 LAC and MEM pick. If he wants LAL/SAC pick, throw in Kyle O'Quinn.

Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Even less leverage with other teams, when he should have a fair amount given Porzingas' talent and further potential.

If the Knicks were capable of winning 60-plus games, Phil would coach them.

LOL, he's apparently been falling asleep during draft workouts.

He's either become so old that he's going senile..or he's just trolling and trying to see how much shit he can do before he gets asked to leave with a bagful of money.

Keeping flexibility whilr developing players like Porzugus should be his job so it seems but is he still trying to build a contender with Melo?

I think Phil is all about loyalty, there's a sniff that KP doesn't want to there so Phil took calls from teams, it happens with every nba team.

Is Phil a good gm? No I don't think he is. I think he's stuck in his ways and doesn't want to change or adapt to how the league is played these days
