Well, there is no question VC wanted to stay in Orlando, it's home to him and his family lives nearby. Plus, I'm sure he prefers playing for the Magic and contending rather than playing with the lottery Suns. He got traded and there's nothing he could do about it.

VC showed he could put his ego aside and playing for the team and not for his own stats (he still got 15ppg and almost 3apg which is solid for his age). The two problems for him were first that SVG wasn't using him enough, not setting enough plays for him, causing him to look worse than he really is (in NJ he averaged 20.8 ppg 5.1 rpg 4.7 apg) and secondly that Orlando got scared of the Miami Heat and wanted to make a drastic change.

Even if the Magic wins this series, I'm sure they won't win this year. They are no better than last year, and I don't buy all of the Hedo praises.

If they hit their threes, they can beat anyone. I doubt they beat the Bulls, but I wouldn't be too surprised if they did.

You can do so much good writing about VC as you want (no doubt he is definitely to 100% much better than Hedo). The fact is, Hedo is an extremely important ingredient in Orlando he plays since 2004 for the Magic-Team
As long as Otis Smith and Stan van Gundy have to say who plays what role in the team, that will work out somehow I rather think VC did not come with the strategy clear in Orlando IMO

Edit: Maybe is the next rebuilding very soon CP3 (again VC). Now we'll see int the next time

No matter what stats say hedo is very irritating to watch.... now that i look back at it vc hit way more shots then hedo..... hedo choked this playoff series as he did many years in the past..... but the magic stepped it up.... hope they dont get too high on emotions and let this win carry over in to game 6..... They need to play with a clear head.... keep gettin othe rplayers involved and not make it a one sided game.... they need a balance of howard and threes.... Magic in game 7!!!! Go Magic

As a Bulls fan, I'm all for this one going seven so that Rose can rest up his ankle a little more. I'd probably still take the Hawks over the Magic as their second round opponent but for what it's worth, the Bulls were 3-1 against Orlando this season.

This blowout win may turn out to be fool's gold but it's hard not to consider the possibility that the Magic will complete a comeback from 3-1 down. It's not the ideal way to get your head on straight but perhaps it's the wakeup call they needed.

Totally agree with you on this, now they're stuck with these two while they could have kept the players from before the trade with VC re-signing for the veteran-min next year and Lewis having an unguaranteed contract for next season as far as I know (plus I bet they would beat the Hawk with these players).

We forget the Magic had much more depth the previous year. They were not quite the same team this year. They lost a lot of their key players that had been playing together and started building chemistry. Pietrus, Carter, Lewis, Gortat, and Matt Barnes. They couuld not help the situation with Matt Barnes but still not sure why they made that trade earlier this season. Maybe it had something to do with cap space.

Richardson is very good when he gets it going, but he hasn't been able to get it going at all recently. I'm pretty sure it was for his expiring contract, but then again, why trade VC's expiring contract away?
