Cleveland can get to the Eastern Conference Finals. Why? Thanks to the seeding system, the Cavs have an easy road to the ECF. Look. Without Arenas and Butler, the Cavs can finish the Cavs-Wizards series easily. Second, the Cavs will not get a glimpse of experiencing a second round playoffs drop because they will not face the Heat or either Pistons. Instead, they will play either the Nets or Raptors.

Warriors had a sizeable win, and certainly didn't play their best. J-Rich, Monta and Al all had off night. If the Warriors continue to play at the level they did to close the season, I can see the pulling the upset. They finished 16-5, and had the most difficult schedule of any team in the NBA during that stretch.

Denver played well against San Antonio. I can see them pushing the Spurs farther than they'd like, but I think Poppovich will make an adjustment and completely shut the Nuggets down before it's over.

The Suns played horribly on offense, yet it was their defense which saved them against the Lakers. I've said it so many times, but people never listen - their defense is vastly underrated. They only allowed 10 points in the fourth quarter, and won depite shooting poorly from 3pt range in the game. This prove that the Suns do not have to rely on a great shooting night to win. They do have something to fall back on if needed.

Houston is my sleeper pick. I think they'll make it to the WCF. Deep team, great defense, and great in the half court. Nobody in the league can guard Yao, especially if T-Mac is playing well.

Ooo....Nasty collision between Deron Williams and Battier. Looks like Battier got Williams with his elbow? Shouldar?
Both games finished with a score of 98-90....

what are you complaining about now? Anyway, Kirilenko went from a top 5 all round NBA player to irrelevent in an instant.

that is if Miami can get it together and somehow squeeze by Chicago and then presumably a long series with Detroit and then afterwards a date with Lebron just to make it to the Finals

I laugh at Kirilenko weeping about playing time, then posting this tremendous stat line:

18 minutes - 0 Points on 0/4 shooting - 3 Rebounds - 0 Assists - 5 Fouls

Classic. I used to like him...until he started crying to the media.

I don't think it was all about playing time it is about everything. He want to help his team win but cant right now. He has just had a very frustrating season.

no, but you always blame someone else for the Jazz losses instead of the guys in a Jazz uniform.

4. New Jersey Nets (47-35)
5. Chicago Bulls (48-34)
6. Washington Wizards (44-38)
7. Indiana Pacers (43-39)
8. Boston Celtics (40-42)
---------------------------------------------------
9. Orlando Magic (39-43)
10. Milwaukee Bucks (38-44)

4. Denver Nuggets (44-38)
5. Houston Rockets (49-33)
6. Los Angeles Clippers (45-37)
7. New Orleans Hornets (44-38)
8. Seattle Supersonics (42-40)
---------------------------------------------------

10. Sacramento Kings (40-42)
11. Memphis Grizzlies (37-45)
12. Utah Jazz (32-50)

14. Portland Trailblazers (26-56)
15. Minnesota Timberwolves (25-57)

Final Standings:

I guess my predictions were alright. I underrated the Jazz and Warriors in the West, and vastly overrated Seattle and New Orleans. In the East I overrated Indiana and Boston, and underrated Orlando and Toronto.

Of the 16 playoff teams, I got 10 correct. Most of my team records were about right. Not too bad.

Other than Memo and AK still not showing up the Jazz played good enough to win. The refs would not have it though as they abused the jazz with foul after foul.

Fuck, the Nuggets just lost. A couple of weird calls and non-calls had been made (offensive fouls on Anthony and a couple of steals where the Spurs defender hit more hand than ball) but I don't blame the whole loss on the refs. Iverson was struggling all game long but in the end he was right there to hit huge shots. I wonder what would have happened if Camby had made that wide open dunk...

I didn't think Nuggets would win it...Spurs had to win at home, Im sure Nuggets will finish lay-ups and dunks in game 3

watching the raptors/nets game right now, and jason kidd is such a narcissist. he's doing everything but scoring.. seems to know where every ball lands and where his teammates are at all times. it's almost the end of the first and he has 2 points, 5 boards and 9 assists already. two plays from him stood out so far:

he grabs an rebound and throws an outlet with two dudes covering RJ. NJ scores in about 3 seconds after a missed basket.

boone blows a fastbreak layup, and kidd pops out of nowhere, grabs the board with one hand and gives a sweet touchpass to snackbar for a two.

my favorite PG of all time.

edit: kidd's statline at the half: 6 points, 9 boards, 14 assists.

ugh, this guy is sick.

Holy shit, Kidds line from game 3:

16 points, 16 rebounds, 19 assists.

Plus he had 3 steals and one block.

Wow.

Vince had a good game too with 37 points.

Whoa! Bulls beat Heat! I know they are Miami, but damn, looks like the Defending Champs will go out in the first round! Teams down 3-0 are 0-78 in series, so Hooray! (Y)

Yeah Miami definetly dosent look like the championship team like last year. Wade isnt ready. Has a defending champ team ever been swept in the first round?
