Also with him, I had not thought they could make it far.
Its just their lack of an inside presence, Collins will never be more than a backup C/F on every other team and Cliff Robinson is just too old.
And I dont see Krstic having his breakthrough this season.
The main problem is, that the Nets will again try to make it with RJ-VC-JK and will again fail, I hope this time they will rebuild after this season.

Dont get me wrong I like how the Nets play and I like RJ, Vince and of course Kidd, but I dont think they will be successfull as long as there is no good big man with them.

Marcus Williams is definitely a ray of hope, but I dont think he will get many minutes ...

Only my opinion on the Nets, maybe I am totally wrong ;)

There are some who say Krstic already had his breakout season last year, and he's a major component of the team already so I'd agree. Marcus Williams is also one of their only options as a backup guard, so he'll get the minutes he deserves.

I thought of Jeff McInnis as the Kidd backup number one, but Marcus should have a bigger impact when he plays, thats right.
Although I dont think McInnis would like to spend his minutes as a two-guard, but we will see how the rotation works. So youre kinda right with that ;)

About Krstic, he had a pretty good year, but I think you can expect more of him. I do think he has talent, but what I worry about is that he wont develope enough in the next 1-2 years. Then the stars of the team could be too old to have an impact.
But that is only my prediction and I am not very sure about it anyway.

For me Krstic is not that good, hopefully only not yet.

i agree with hova, without a decent inside presence the new jersey nets will fail and will be forced to rebuild. Something drastic needs to be done, get kidd that ring!!!

they should be doing whatever they can to go after al harrington without breaking up the core.... promise the hawks 3 firsts and cash ,scrub players with hope, whatever..... but the last thing they should be doing is sitting around while the best big man left on the market is sitting in limbo..... maybe they should have gone after magloire if he was that cheap... im sure cliffy, a 1st and cash would have persuaded the bucks
PPL r a little feisty these days:D

Al Harrington is a scoring talent, which they don't need so badly. They need pure defensive talent. They have that in Josh Boone, who will hopefully help them out when he comes back from surgery.

Jeff McInnis has a lot to change during the offseason, such as losing all the weight he gained while injured and and thinking about his work ethic. A Kidd backup is also as important as inside talent because Kidd playing too many minutes at his age could hasten his retirement in the long run.

I also disagree with that Harrington thang, since he is everything but not an inside presence.
He needs to work hard to gain either power/muscles to be an inside presence or get a shooting touch and get a bit more quickness to play the Smaller Forward position, that is what I am thinking.

Cheap versions of the player the Nets need are DeSagana Diop (although he is still to inexperienced), Samuel Dalembert (resigned by the Sixers not long ago) or Alonzo Mourning (Only if he could play more than 25 mpg, and I know there is no way for him to return to the Nets ;)

And even with those players they still lack any inside offense .. so it will be really hard to get a player who can help them in the post.

If he returned to the Nets, there's a pretty good chance someone would try to shoot him at a home game.

Apparently, I hear Mile Ilic, their second round pick last year, is coming to the NBA this year. He's supposed to be specifically a rebounder and great shot blocker, exactly the type of player that could easily flourish on the Nets if he uses his minutes well.

He plays almost like Nenad. That means we'll have two great inside players with lots of finesse. Let's see if Boone is able to play on december and he only loses 1 month of competition. I think we have a good team this year, but we still need Kenyon.

COME BACK TO NJ, UNCLE KENYON !

WE MISS YOU

Nets finally re-signed Cliff Robinson, and waived Zoran Planinic. Good luck on TAU !

He'll be a great guy off the bench for them, 10 ppg is a well needed boost. Plus he can shoot 3's.

One year contract only, hopefully he re-signs later if he ends up playing up to expectations.

Well... maybe is because coach Frank won't let him play so much and they don't want another McInnis :D
