no one will 'stop' Wade, Shaq, or Dirk. they will get theirs no matter what.

GloveGuy wrote:Bigger players cannot guard Dwayne Wade. That's why you didn't see Tayshaun Prince on him during the Detroit series, he can't keep up with him. Josh Howard is a great defender, but I don't see him having any chance guarding D-Wade.

I'm curious to see who the Heat put on Dirk. I'm thinking it will be either James Posey or Udonis Haslem. Posey, while giving up three inches on Dirk, seems to have a great wingspan. Haslem did really well on Rasheed Wallace in the previous series, but I don't see him being able to keep up with Dirk when he puts it on the floor.

And anyone who was knocking Miami's perimeter defense needs to check the statistics. Richard Hamilton experienced playoff lows in the FG% deparment, at 37.8%. Chauncey Billups shot a measley 39.1% from the field. Devin Harris is quick, but his path to rim won't be nearly as easy when he has either Shaquille O'Neal or Alonzo Mourning ready to block his shot. Terry, on the other hand, only shot 41.6% from the field, 25% from three last series. I have little doubt that Wade, Williams, and Payton have the advantage against Dallas' backcourt.

Detroit's offense blowed in the playoffs lol. Miami's perimeter defense is still suspect... especially to a team like Dallas who basically have 2 shooting guards for their backcourt

and Dallas already faced possibly the best defensive big man in this era- Tim Duncan

that being said- Miami will give Dallas a lot of problems too

i don't have a rooting interest for either team. i just hope this finals will be the cherry on top of a very exciting playoffs.

I say Dallas in 6, so does my wallet.

i don't want to see GP & Walker getting a ring

Zo's look on the ECF trophy shows that he really wants to win a ring, imo.

Good link, thanks for that- this is the most interesting part to me:

3/26/04 As in March 26, 2004, i.e. the last time the Heat defeated the Mavs.

119-118 The final score of that game.

5 Periods it took for the Heat to notch the victory.

i could jerk off to that quote all day; my hate for ben wallace is unparalleled.

heat in 5.

what i found funny about that quote is he goes and says no one can stop shaq but then mentions his defense to prove his point.

Dallas Mavericks versus Miami Heat... This is going to be a nice series, since both teams really surprised me in seeing them both in the NBA 2006 Finals (I was expecting a re-match between Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs)... It's really hard to say who will win it... since both of them defeated both former NBA champion teams, and as the saying goes on: "The ball is round and it will roll in any direction". Some may speculate, assume, predict, or conclude... but as for me, I'll just sit back and enjoy this series and wait for the champion to emerge in an unpredictable manner. No spoiling the fun and excitement...

Theres no point in any of u goin back to what the heat did in the regular season, that was cruise control, now this is serious and they showed that by smashing the pistons an makin them look like a wrecked franchise.
I'll be back for EASO 2007, feel the terror like its 05 again i own this game!!

Agreed fully. The Mavericks were a bit shaky a few times (not many) and have been playing consistently well. The Heat seem to be a new team altogether and it coincided with Detroit's slipping game just to give them a ride to the NBA Finals.

Now Detroit's huge in-season performance is basically rendered obsolete by their elimination, nobody will remember 2005-2006 as being the Pistons' year.

EVEN THOUGH I HATE TO SAY IT. MAV WILL WIN THEY HAVE WAY TO MUCH FIRE POWER FOR THE HEAT . NOBODY CAN GUARD DIRK AND HAS A SPURS FAN I THINK THAT NEEDS TO BE ADRESSED NEXT YEAR FOR THEM. HOWARD WILL GUARD WADE THAT WILL DAMPEN HIS GAME AND HAS FOR SHAQ HE HIS UNSTOPABLE SO LET HIM GET HIS POINTS LIKE THEY DID WITH THE SPURS WITH DUNCAN . KEITH VANHORN WILL ALSO BE A KEY HAS SOMEONE ELSE SAID BEFORE HE WILL SPREAD THE FLOOR WHICH SHAQ ARE ZO WILL COME OUT TO CONTEST . SO NOW YOU GOT TWO BIG MEN DIRK AND VANHORN AT FRONT COURT IF THE GO SMALL WHO CAN SHOOT THE OUTSIDE SHOT AND THE THREE, HEAT CANT MATCH THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know what this series is really going to come down to? Antoine Walker vs. Jerry Stackhouse, which is really funny to think about for anyone who has followed their entire careers. The fact that these two guys are the two team's x-factors that are competing for the championship is hilarious.

Hopefully because the guy I'm making the bet with thinks that Dwyane Wade is a swingman.

EDIT: where did Indy's post go?

If the Mavericks win the championship I will run away from NLSC forever.

That's how much I believe in the Miami Heat. Awww, cute ain't it?

I hate making posts that short, so I deleted it.

Which means I'll probably delete this one too...

Unless it serves some sort of purpose. Now its long enough to qualify so I'll leave it.

However now its spam...

Wait, now I'm semi-spamming. Time to leave.

Anyone know what songs' instrumentals were playing when they were doing the starting lineup for both teams?

EDIT: Damn... Wade showing his long wingspan and hops with that block on Dirk.

I see why people talk about Walker shooting really long 3's now.. haha (he was like 3 feet behind the line, and even then he did a step back move and then launched the long bomb with 4 seconds left :P ).

As for the instrumentals, I recognized the one they played during the heat lineup but I never knew the name either! I wish I could find out the name of it..
