We've had Steve Irwin and Paul Hogan ("Crocodile Dundee" if you prefer) as our international representatives. The damage has been done.

Former Ohio State player Scoonie Penn and former Marquette star Cordell Henry will play at point guard for the Bucks' summer camp team, and ex-Vermont guard T.J. Sorrentine will help out after being added to the roster Thursday. Reece Gaines, who finished last season on the Bucks' roster after being obtained in a deal with Houston, and former Wisconsin star Kirk Penney will play at shooting guard.

hmm....if Penney was to stick it would be hard to argue with the Bucks having Bogut AND Penney  although, I'd saty it's unlikely, but I'm still hopeful :D

Bogut had an average game... something like 7 points, couple of boards, 3 blocks and 3 fouls... he shot 3/6 from the field but there seems to be an explanation as to why his stats weren't too impressive...

RealGM Bucks Forum wrote:Well...gents (and ladies) I was at the game as well.

Two things...he is correct in saying the PG play was pathetic. Scoonie Penn has been overseas for a reason. He has no penetration ability and cannot shoot other than that he doesn't turn the ball over? icon_eek.gif Penney, I'd counter with actually looked ok out there. Thomas, imho, may have had 18 but he has no ability to play team ball.

Thomas: I have ball must shoot or try to score.
Penney: Run off screen, find my set shot, play team offense (perhaps because he has played at int'l level)

Other than that I agree largely with the previous poster. Bogut thrives in a team oriented motion offense with movement, in other words summer league is very difficult to tell but I'll say this he will be an offensive asset to this team. You can run an offense through him. His passing ability could perhaps be the best in the league in a year or two. Has moves to the hoop.

Lol funny you mention him... Darko came out the other day and said that Summer League is rubbish for big men. The guards are all out for themselves and do nothing but shoot, or something along those lines.

On a side note, in that same game Tskita scored about a hundred points on 80% shooting

Maybe it's just that Darko is rubbish? He expects minutes in the nba and he gets outplayed by 2nd rounders...

Apparentely he had his shot swatted a few times by the 6'6 Jason Maxiell. Awell, maybe he can find a "natural" position at PG or something

Well, he hasn't played against anyone different than the Wallaces and McDyess in two years, since he has only competed in Pistons' practices... 2 years going up against Big Ben should be enough to destroy any 20 year old's confidence...

Althoughm what Darko said about the guard-oriented play in summer leagues is true. If you check the boxscores, you'll see 6'0" nobodys racking up the shot attempts and guys like Diogu getting 7 shots per game.

How fragile are NBA rookies? When I trained with NRL players in preseason I viewed it as a tool to get better and to make me tougher. You'd think playing against rasheed and ben wallace every day in training would toughen you up.

Or totally destroy your confidence after getting stuffed 5 times per hour. Depends on character.

I read somewhere that Darko's one of the better players in Pistons practices. This is all too confusing... I need an explanation

Perhaps, you never know what happens behind those closed doors. Dumars does need to live up to his reputation... ah, we'll see. Someday Darko's gonna figure it out, otherwise he's ending up as Kwame.

Mind you, with the amount of PT Darko gets, Kwame-like numbers might make him a worthy MIP candidate. ;)

Bogut will be fine....he only took 6 shots for those points....you have to remember as a freshman he averaged only around 10ppg because the team's offense didn't run any plays for him....Bucks will get more use out of Bogut if he gets more touches....

good to see Kirk Penney going alright....hopefully he makes the team *fingers crossed* (Y)

Jae: ok, I'll give Kwame a chance. He has a fresh start assuming he ends up in a Lakers uniform. If he doesn't do well, then I won't say anything. I'll just let the Lakers media crucify him (that was a little harsh, actually  )

Yeah that's what the guys said at the RealGM Bucks forum. They made a deliberate attempt to get him the ball more. His coaches weren't happy about the amount of shots he was taking, but 9 FG's + 16 FT's means he took around 15 or 16 shots (Y)
