I'm a little surprised Jermaine O'Neal wasn't suspended. Not because I want him to be, I saw the confrontation on SC and I don't think O'Neal's involvement warranted a suspension. But the league has come down hard on the Pacers for everything else, I half-expected them to punish O'Neal more severely.

Andrew, I dont think David Stern could get away with giving Jermaine a suspension when the refs didnt even think his behaviour warranted a technical. Walker was thrown out right away, and Jermaine got nothing.

Antione suspension was for getting physical with a ref, not Jermaine. Had he left teh ref alone like JO did, there would have been no suspension just a fine.

In the interest of fairness, yes, but it's David Stern; he could get away with it if he really wanted to. If Brad Miller can get a one game suspension for having a punch thrown at him, the league can pretty much find any reason to keep a player out and lighten his wallet.

pacers got burned tonight.
looks like this might be a 7 game series.
oh and walker wasn't playing either..

Sun May 01, 2005 2:12 pm

LOL, the Celtics can blow the Pacers out without Walker, but with Walker they were getting blown out. Interesting turn around and it looks like Boston benefit from the suspension.

Sun May 01, 2005 4:20 pm

damn, a 31 point loss...ouch!

Sun May 01, 2005 5:02 pm

wow thats a big loss...

pacers shot .269 from the field :lame:

Sun May 01, 2005 5:17 pm

It's games ike this that make me believe 'Toine will never resign and was just a cap relievung move by Ainge... Go Boston, anyway...

Sun May 01, 2005 6:31 pm

Maybe they should keep Walker on the bench? Great all-around game for Pierce (30P, 8A, 7R, 5B)! His efficiency was 43! Hopefully they'll get the easy home win, before putting all powers together in Game 6 in Indy.

Oh, on advice of Michael Jackson, Tony Allen decided to undergo some plastic surgeries before the game, look what he has got:

This was a tough loss to stomache. Everyone in the stands was quite grumbly, and noone was talking after the game. Quite erie. But, it is super super important for all of us, Players and fans to put this win behind us. The series is tied, its now a 3 game series and Boston has HC advantage. We have to go into Boston with the intesity that we had in game 3 and we can do it.

lol, did you get drunk after the game? Everything in bold are spelling/grammatical errors, and you're studying to become a journalist?

If the Celtics start to move and think, and especially defend closely, it isn't really that hard to beat the Pacers. Pierce always encourages the team and puts up big numbers after that, and that's what makes this so special about the team. He's the leader, and I don't think they'll lose at home with such a great confidence as they have now. They noticed that it takes some effort to win, that's why they're playing so good right now (win by 31 points). After the first game they thought it would be very easy in the next games, but Indiana fought back and showed them some of their game. As I said, now they know what it takes to win against the Pacers, and I don't think they won't let go after that win (like they did after the first).

I just saw a short recap of yesterday's game, and on the flipside to Game 3, the Pacers played some dirty basketball this time. J7O pushed Jefferson a couple of times (even when the ball was already shot), Pierce got hit a couple of times, etc. It's hard to say for me, but this will be Reggie's last two games.

Mon May 02, 2005 4:59 am

Unless Antoine fucks us up, we're winning the next two games.

Basically, the Celtics have found an answer to all their defensive problems.

The first three games, GP guarded Anthony Johnson. He was alright, but he couldn't guard him for full court like Delonte and Banks could. Solution, start Delonte West. to tire out AJ.

Tony Allen was getting killed by Reggie Miller. Not only did he receive zero respect from the refs, he just didn't know how to work the screens. Solution, Gary Payton. Great defenders know how to play defense on and off-the-ball, and while Payton has lost some of his lateral quickness, his off-the-ball instincts will always be with him. The Glove returned last night.

Jermaine O'Neal was getting hammered by the doubles. Whoever guarded Anthony Johnson(Banks, West, Allen) was able to safely double down and come up with blocks and steals on JO.

The Pacers just don't pose a threat when you play them correctly. With Boston's amazing depth, they're able to shut down Indiana's best offensive players with ease.

Boston still in six.

Incorrect. But, Im not going to try to prove you wrong, Im just going to allow the players to handle this one. I think Pacers in 6, maybe 7. Most likely 6.

And Cy, i typed that in about 5 seconds, I had to be at work in 5 minutes.

Also, in game 4 the refs were awful. I haven't seen a worse crew in many many years. But, that is an overused excuse.

Mon May 02, 2005 10:06 am

It's not valid for a Reggie fan to argue about fouls  He always got the fouls 'cause he was guarded by a rookie. Now that Boston put a former superstar to guard him, the refs will call the fouls more even now, IMO.

Yup, they didn't see a lot of the Pacers' fouls.

um... they called about 5 or 6 blocking fouls when they were clearly charges. All against the Pacers.

(While on the topic of foul trouble, it's good that the Celtics ran away with Game 4. The officiating in the first half of Game 4 was so one-sided against Indiana as to be almost laughable. It brought back memories of the disgraceful effort when the Lakers beat the Kings in Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals, a game the officials basically handed to LA.)

That quote is from Peter May a Boston reporter. You know its bad when the opposition can see through it.

Thank you. I read that article too, and I was there for the game, I saw the officiating first hand. It was bad...

Yes, we are up 50-42 at the half, and JT is playing!!! YES!

I like it so far, I like it!

Wed May 04, 2005 12:13 pm

PACERS WIN 90-85!!! yeeeeeah baby, there goes your theory gloveguy.

Finish them off in Conseco now guys.

Welcome back Jamall!

That was a tough game to watch, even at times when we were up 10+ it felt like a 2pt ball game. Officiating was much better, Pacers shot the ball better, less turnovers and better defense like in game 3 was the key. Celts didn't play very strong defense and turned the ball over way too much.

As a Pacer I would like to give a big Thank You to Walker for once again playing a horrible game, it was nice to see him out there again.

Are you kidding? The officiating sucked! During stretches in the 3rd and early in the 4th it seemed like they were trying to give this one to Boston. They called a travel on Jermaine when he didnt even have the ball yet!! It was really blatant. But, we escaped with a win, so its all good
