Fiction. I see Lakers falling from the #2 spot or 3, 4 and possibly 5. i am a Laker fan, a very big one, but I think Lamar Odom and others coming through, but they won'y fall out of playoff position. Possibly 6-8.

Fiction, at least IMO, I think this season will be a great season for the NBA. You've got LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Yao, Amare and Dwynae Wade as your young players who will only get better. You have the two confrences starting to balance each other out a little bit with the Pistons winning the championship and Shaq heading to the East. So now people won't be like "Oh, I'm not watching the finals, the Lakers are a lock to win the championship", there's also plenty of "soap opera" like stories that will make this season exciting to watch such as Kobe vs. Shaq.

it has been on the decline for several years now. though with the western powers breaking up it might get better but imo there are to many teams now and its watering down the game.

Fact: They have made some key moves and they now have a solid team. With some of the other teams in the East, the Celtics are equal to or better than most of them except for some. They will be able to capture one of the spots between 5-8.

Not to interrupt or anything but hasn't anyone noticed how un-fundamental basketball is getting?

I don't know, maybe it's just me. You've got to admit...all these guys, so hyped up..etc etc. Ok, people watched the Bulls for all those years and no one really ever got bored. There was always lots of competition around.

With the Lakers run however it just didnt feel the same. LA/Indiana was pretty fun. LA-Philly wasn't as fun. LA-NJ was just boring.

SA-NJ wasn't all that fun to watch either, NJ was clearly out-matched. You knew who was going to win it before the series really got started. This year the Pistons just made it a whole lot of fun, it was quite amazing to watch a team of "nobodies" destroy and yes, I mean DESTROY the much hyped 4 all-star worthy team called the LA Lakers. (They were even dubbed the LA All-Stars in some article.)

But again, LA had a rivalry with Sacramento, that built up the tension at the Western Conference Finals...these days...who's rivals? Everyone just seems to be playing. What's basketball without rivalry?

Fact. I see the Grizzlies being the 3rd best team in the West but 4th in the seedings *due to divisions* but Rockets will not be better than the grizzlies.

Fiction. The Nets have shown they want as much cap money as possible, they'll ship Kidd off for some good players with decent contracts.

Fact Or Fiction: L.A. Makes It To The Playoffs

Fact. LA (Lakers, I'm presuming) are one of two major teams being slept on including the Dallas Mavericks. LA has downgraded their bench and starting lineup a bit, true but they have some exciting, good players and they have a future. I see them as a young, solid team going to the playoffs, losing in the 2nd round.
