Where are "basketball reasons" now?

In all seriousness though; this off-season has been crazy.

Glad to see my man Pau go to a class organization like the Spurs. West bolting to the Warriors for that vet min though...

It would probably still make his point about loyalty, though.

I'm sure more than a few of them were calling Durant a choker after the WCF, too.

You back for good now?

Meh, we still have no defense. Capela is the only rim protector we have right now.

David West is so damn desperate right now. Bolting season by season to a team just to get a ring.

You could have the best defenders in the league but D'Antoni wouldn't play them till they could shoot the 3 ball.

I wanna say yes, but it's hard to say after a two-year hiatus lol.

Capela will not see the light of day under D'Antoni, I'm sure Ryan Anderson will be playing at the five pretty often. Beverley will get the start since he can at least shoot the three, but I don't see him thriving in D'Antoni's system. Not too excited for this season, but D'Antoni is the perfect coach for "Morey Ball" so there's that.

Let's also see if coach likes Cory Brewer this time around, when he was traded to the knicks D'Antoni said plain and simple you can't shoot I won't play you so we worked a buyout.

Sometimes he makes it, sometimes he doesn't.

I'm glad Houston got Nene for a very cheap price. Now we need another point guard.

It's a shame the knicks had to let Langston Galloway walk but the kid struggles with his shot so much and isn't a point guard, I wish him well though!

Check out this video I found on the D Wade deal, Jason Whitlock makes some very good points:

phpBB [video]

Maybe Pat Riley wanted D Wade to leave so he doesn't have to worry about a massive contract. Think about it, next year there are so many key Free Agents (Westbrook, Blake Griffin etc.)

"Outsmarted"? I don't think those guys know what the word means. Of course, glancing at their other videos, I would suggest that there are big gaps in their knowledge and a lack of intelligent thought in general. The only thing sadder and more moronic are the comments on the videos themselves. Yeesh.

Riley may have, in the long run, made the smarter move by opting not to tie up cap space with a big contract for Wade. However, that doesn't mean that Wade was "outsmarted" or "outfoxed"; he still gets paid, his accomplishments cannot be erased, and he looks like the good guy in the whole affair, because Riley's the one who wouldn't pay up or even pick up the phone to reach out to the guy who's been the face of the franchise for so long. To that point, that's something that could hurt him in negotiations in the future, so Wade could well have the last laugh.

in hindsight, it still wasn't a bad move, considering they had no idea Durant would go to GSW taking up the money they have available so it was better to overpay to lock up someone that's halfway decent that they knew they could get right away instead of waiting, holding out for someone better, and getting burned. They'd wind up overpaying for some d-leaguer/bench player.
