thats rather sad actually. i still dont understand why fan have to fight over who was best ever anyway. people need to stop getting invested in celebs that dont even know who they are. they act like they are winning if people agree that "their" guy is the best ever. just sit back and watch great basketball players put on a great show. this finals was better than expected

I agree with you and Jackal on that, as well as your follow up post about LeBron making five straight Finals. Certain circumstances were in his favour, but at the end of the day, you play the competition that presents itself and you need to get the job done. I don't believe that alone, nor his beastly numbers are a deciding factor in any G.O.A.T. discussions, but you have to tip your hat to them all the same.

In terms of those discussions, people certainly do get worked up, but it's an interesting discussion and people do have strong opinions. I think a lot of people get worked up over it because they feel it justifies their fanaticism and emotional investment. It's the same reason the gaming community gets so worked up over "console wars". It definitely gets silly, though in my opinion, it's not quite as bad as people actively hating video games, television shows, movies, or music that they're not forced to consume, and suggesting they have no right to exist...or thinking that their existence is somehow responsible for the lack of things that they do like, or an affront to them.

Tl;dr: We're pretty weird beings.

What people don't talk about enough is how in The Simpsons ("Lisa the Greek"), they dubbed over Lisa's lines for a few years (never having to replace Buffalo in the process), and Lisa was right every single time. On the other hand, the writers often went the other way with their pool, and ended up losing money. No, I don't listen to too many DVD commentaries, why do you say that?

Congrats to the Warriors for winning the championship. I was an avid fan of the run and gun Suns back then and this team somehow reminds me of them with just a better gameplan and a better defense obviously. Congrats on Livingston for winning a ring despite going through that horrible knee injury that nearly cost his leg. Iggy deserved the FMVP the only thing that will justify LeBron winning it is if he forced a Game 7 and losing it in a close game.
