 But for 2 of my best players?!?

Tue Dec 13, 2005 1:22 pm

yeesh- ai2 and nash are your 2 best players?! i feel sorry for your team hehe

Tue Dec 13, 2005 3:56 pm

k next team is ZMAC. i'll call them the silent assassins. he hasn't been saying much in this thread but his team has been doing pretty well

draft team: selected 9th
Allen Iverson
Peja
Wally Szczerbiak
T Prince
B Simmons
Battier
D Christie
Joe Smith
M Jackson
C Andersen
J Barry
Watson
Hunter

I have no clue if this guy was at the draft but i won't let him off the hook...
worst pick: Doug Christie. Maybe 3 years ago, he was worthy of a 7th round selection. and Zmac had already drafted Christie-like-scrappy-type players in Battier & Prince. His acquisition was redundant.
best pick: Allen Iverson. Had we redone the draft, going off of our league's format- Iverson would not fall past the 5th spot.

TRADES: none

NOTABLE adds: eddie house, bruce bowen

STRENGTHS: fgm, fg%, ftm, 3pm, pts
WEAKNESSES: Oreb, Dreb, Rebs, Steals, Blks

unnecessary commentary:
an opposing GM said: "yeah zmac looks overrated, but he's doing well oddly enough"

Haha apparently if your team is NOT Jae's or Cy's, it's overrated. Maybe it's true about Zmac's team- it should be noted that other then Skip's team, his opponents have been towards the botom half of the standings (not counting this week's opponent ;) ). The best thing going for this team is that it's played most of his opponents close. As long as his team can avoid those lopsided losses, his team can wait for players like Bobby Simmons to come around. If this team could get a halfway decent center, they should make the playoffs

GI Joe  another good team profile, and hey, you actually won this week

Fri Dec 16, 2005 5:37 pm

I'm still second last (N)

I've caught up to Rip but he's winning 10-2 at the moment :|

Sat Dec 17, 2005 9:42 am

yay matthews team has been set free (Y)

Sun Dec 18, 2005 3:38 am

Okay, who's the first guy that picked up Darius Miles from free agency?

Mon Dec 19, 2005 10:17 pm

Would've won by more if Maggette wasn't injured all week (N)

Tue Dec 20, 2005 4:31 am

I'm just one win total behind you, Jae :o

Anyway, I can't believe Legend just won a matchup.

Tue Dec 20, 2005 4:37 am

Legend is catching up to me

But me and Legend are catching up to Indy

Tue Dec 20, 2005 4:50 am

Jugs, I don't think that 6 for 1 trade offer is going to work given the player limits

Matthew's team

Draft team: Picked 17th
V Carter
E Brand
A Miller
C Webber
Curry
Josh Smith
Stackhouse
K Brown
T Lue
C Mihm
A Hardaway
J Bender
A Houston

Best pick: I was thinking Chris Webber. But Elton Brand Brand is having a Duncan-like season, including career highs in points, fg%, ft%, and blocks. I thought maybe elton’s days of being a 20-10 player were over with the arrival of Mobley & Cassell, 2 shot happy. I was wrong- Brand has played like a top 10 pick and has become a MVP candidate

Worst pick: Jerry Stackhouse- In the 7th round. The North Carolina alum has yet to play one game this season and when he does return, he’ll be fighing Daniels, Harris, KVH for minutes

Trades: none

Notable Adds: Webster, Garrity

Strenghts: fg%, ftm, ft%

Weaknesses: 3pm, steals, blks

Unnecessary commentary: why the E.R pic? Because Matthew’s top players are injury prone. Ironically enough, Webber & Carter have stayed injury free but Curry, J.R Smith, Stackhouse, Brown, Hardaway have spent a lot of time on the inactive list…and Houston and now Bender will never suit it up again. And not only does Matthew have to worry about injuries, there’s always the prospect of Legend locking out his roster

Despite the injuries, suffering a 13-0 loss, and having his roster locked for one day, his team isn’t out of it yet. If everyone can stay healthy & secondary players like Curry, Kwame Brown and J.R Smith come around, this team should make the playoffs

Tue Dec 20, 2005 2:58 pm

Nice team review... injuries do suck, I haven't gotten that many injuries, except for Amare :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

Wed Dec 21, 2005 2:32 am

Phew, I'm glad I picked up Darius Miles, but I sure hope he's not out for the season with that injury of his. I'm projected to have a bad week simply because not many of my guys are playing this week :|

Wed Dec 21, 2005 2:44 am

Did you pick him up? I went for him but I had a higher waiver position than you I think. I can't get in to check (N)

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:48 am

How can you tell who gets a higher waiver position? How does that work? Yeah, I ended up getting him, but I'd rather have Delonte West for some odd reason.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:58 am

The waiver position is next to the number of moves you have made on the main screen.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:01 am

Ahhh, so that's what it is. I always thought that was the number of waiver pick ups rather than waiver positioning. How is waiver positioning determined?

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:06 am

I think it's actually determined originally by your draft order (it's the opposite order) then it changes depending on either the number of moves you make or the number of weeks you play, which is why I'm surprised you got Miles because I had a higher position.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:09 am

Maybe because you have a higher team record, it automatically disregards your team even if you had a higher draft position?

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:15 am

Lol typical Yahoo, eliteist bitches.

Edit: Er... non eliteist lol.

http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/hoops/hooprules/hooprules-17.html
check that out

jae- if your waiver priority was "higher" then cy's, you should have gotten him. the site does not take into account records/make exceptions. maybe you read your waiver priority wrong/didn't put in the request in time

someone let matthew know he could set his lineup. i'd prefer to defeat his team fair and square

Wed Dec 21, 2005 9:38 am

cy waiver was higher, i think he was 7th so he got it. now cy is 20th so he wont get no rights on waivers lol

Wed Dec 21, 2005 11:58 am

I'll take Miles, but since he's injured and for God knows how long I'm not parting with any of my SF's but I have plenty of Guards but Ford and Livingston are not available unless the trade is right.
