Does his dad still coach? That would make a strange duo.

No, they both retired at the same time.

No both retired at end of last year. ROFL about Gaze saying Karl Malone coached Team USA. I remember on the News Limited site www.news.com.au they called Andrew Bogut Andrew Bogus. WTF! This subject is like when NBA players make comments with no geography skills what so ever like Shaq and the Panthenon being a club and Lebron saying Europe is a country.

Is Bogut injured? was watching the Bucks v Philly game today and he looked REALLY sluggish, like he was carrying some sort of injury.

Sat Feb 25, 2006 8:24 pm

A few people have speculated that... then they got overwhelmed with the idea of starting Joe Smith and benching Bogut, but it's possible.

Sat Feb 25, 2006 8:29 pm

Smith had 30 odd points and 10 boards....I would start Bogut and Smith....Magloire is over-rated...the bucks woulda been better keeping Mason

Sat Feb 25, 2006 8:30 pm

Weird as it sounds, I kind of hope there was something wrong because otherwise it was a poor decision to play him so sparingly (12 minutes to be precise). Joe Smith was having a fine game but I didn't think Magloire was tearing it up yet he played 28 minutes. I was kind of surprised when I saw Magloire's numbers in the boxscores afterwards, actually.

Bogut pwned the Sixers in the 3 previous games. It was good that he didn't play that much last night

Sun Feb 26, 2006 12:35 am

Bogut looked slow out there....probably got benched because he had 3 TO's in the first 5 mins of the game....then Smith tore it up.

Smith scored 32 points, none of which were as a result of a play being set up for him....he just grabbed his own boards, knocked down open shots and was always available for the pass. Nice work.

Looks like Bucks aren't playing Welsh or Kukoc anymore, i envy them because they have Charlie Bell....wish he was a Piston.

Noticed that bogut's been pretty quiet since All-Star break until he had a nice boxscore a few days ago!

Wed Mar 01, 2006 6:52 pm

It's been suggested he's been under the weather, as he's looked sluggish and pretty much been making token appearances.

Wed Mar 01, 2006 6:55 pm

16/11/5 against Denver, voted player of the game.

Wed Mar 01, 2006 9:58 pm

Phoenix tomorrow, whoever guards Marion will be in for a long night (or on the bench)

Thu Mar 02, 2006 11:21 am

I think Bogut's just real lucky to play on a deeper team than other rookeis and doesn't have the pressure to have to do uberly well every game. It's good for him so that he can learn to contribute slowly and at his own pace.

I guess it just didn't happen for Darko! :D

Thu Mar 02, 2006 11:27 am

If anything it's bad luck for Darko rather than good luck for Bogut. Most lottery teams have some deficiency that they try to remedy through the Draft. Therefore, most lottery picks have a good chance of getting decent PT and opportunities from the beginning.

Thu Mar 02, 2006 11:29 am

But he should have known that his chance would come eventually. But I also do understand, no player wants to sit on the pine when they know they are good enough to play at least 28-30 minutes a game...

Thu Mar 02, 2006 2:29 pm

Not a bad game tonight against the suns, even though the bucks were defeated. He put up 15pts on 7/12 shooting, 9 boards, 1 ast and a steal. That was in 25 mins, so not a bad game.

He has seemingly come out of his slump the last 2 games and putting up some much better numbers compared to a week ago.

Thu Mar 02, 2006 2:38 pm

Hard to call it a slump when he's not really been playing but in any case, good to see him back out there getting decent PT and putting up solid numbers like 15 and 9. Perhaps some day Stotts will see fit to go inside more often.

Thu Mar 02, 2006 3:43 pm

He's not been playing because he's in a slump lol... he had a few games where he had like 2 fouls and 3 TO's in 10 minutes and didn't see the court again. It didn't really have to do with his game time, he just sucked preverbial balls.

Good for him though, averaging 15.5/10 in his last 2 games.

Thu Mar 02, 2006 3:49 pm

Fair enough. I was still under the impression it was health related but I guess I stand corrected. :)

Thu Mar 02, 2006 3:54 pm

yea he had a great game tonight (Y)

i didnt know he was in a slump though, i wouldn't bench him if he was

Thu Mar 02, 2006 5:08 pm

i wouldn't call it a great game......it was decent.

Thu Mar 02, 2006 11:03 pm

Bogut's looked real sloppy lately....don't know if it's the proverbial 'Rookie Wall', but he really has looked lethargic and playing like rat shite....at least he's still working, getting charges, making good passes....let's hope for better....

Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:12 pm

Apparentely Bogut just threw down an awesome dunk on Brand + Kaman... admittedly this is the Bucks fans at RealGM saying it was awesome, but I may need a new avatar

Sun Apr 02, 2006 2:01 pm

This thread hasn't been used in a while but a great game by Bogut today againt Jermaine deserves a new post. 15 points, 8 boards, 5 assists, 1 steal and he got fouled out. Important stat - 35 mins played, indicating to Terry Stotts that Bogut needs actual time on the court to be productive.....

Edit: forgot to mention that he also got fouled out. :P
Edit: no I didnt forget, I forgot that I didn't forget.
