Payton shoots a better percentage than Kidd and has always so if PAyton misses a lot than Kidd misses all the time...

scub, i understand u getting back at this kid(d) but don't make the real jason kidd an underclass pg all of a sudden, stoudamire better job then kidd, don't make me laugh, no offence but kidd is the top pg right now and he doesn't care bout stats, he wants to win, he makes his teammates better, at least thats what everybody sayin', and he has to shoot cuz kittles is at the least called streaky, jefferson has no jumper, ok he has one but a real ugly one, we saw that in the playoffs, he can finish as one of the best but shooting aint his thign , and martin developped wel but against duncan he's just overclassed, so he can't get his shot off all the time, thus kidd has to shoot, but i got to admit maybe to desperately, hoping he will catch fire and shoot the lights out, dont get me wrong, i'm not a big kidd fan or something(defenitaly not from the spamming kidd around here ), but he is a great player,the best pg at the moment imo

if you read his post, he says jason kidd is the top point guard in teh league right now, but magic, john stockton, gary payton and jerry west in ghtere prime are all better than kidd in his prime.

I know he's great but the best PG at the moment is just cause there are no others or you don't consider all the facts. In the opinion of who does more among all the PGs, he might be the best, but if we want to say who's the best player of all PG, I would easily say Marbury or GP. IMO, Gary Payton is the best out there (maybe together with Marbury), Kidd is younger and is more active but Payton is a PG with better ethics of what a PG is supposed to do than Kidd. Kidd does a job that is not assigned to him (shooting), Kidd wants to do everything like he's playing alone (Something like Kobe), he does make his teammates better cause they have to start running like horses if they want Kidd to pass the ball, if not, Kidd would run all over by himself and miss an easy shot...

In other words, sometimes if you do it all by yourself, you don't get recognition, Barkley was a Sixers player for over 8 years, he did everything there, he got there and played like a monster, he took rebounds, gave assists, scored over 25, blocked shots, got a bunch of steals as well, and never got any recognition but what a great player he was, it wasn't until he went to the Suns where KJ was handling the ball and others were shooting the 3s Barkley was shooting back in phily that he got his recognition as MVP.

During his first year as a Net, Kidd got a really good season there and many were arguing whether he was the real MVP or not, what about this year?, nope. None of us took his job as serious as his first Nets season and maybe he did more than that first year.

Shooting is not his stuff, Stockton didn't shoot that much but he was effective shooting, and that didn't make others say he was a bad PG, if Kidd knows he doesn't hit the rim when he's shooting, why does he keep shooting? Everyone would say Stockton was just a guy who passes the ball, no he was shooting but he would shoot when he knew he could, if Kidd were that good shooting, I would agree, but Kidd is not Gary Payton, Kidd is not Marbury, Kidd is not a shooter to shoot the ball the way he does.

However, I do understand your point but I still believe Kidd hasn't done anything yet to be named the greatest PG of all time.

Magic wasn't fat then. Are you serious. He might be bigger now but considering his health and that he's retired, he's still probably in good shape. Is it wrong to be bigger than everyone else? No. He could do everything but he was best at the point guard position regardless of his height. He certainly was a bit on the short side for a center but he could also play that. You can't say that he was in a centers body just because he can play it, just like you can't say that he was in a point guard's body just because he can play the position.

How does the opinion of many basketball analysts show nothing. It certainly rules our your opinion. These guys actually know what they're talking about. If they were all like you then they would never have been asked to give their opinion in the SLAM issue. It isn't just a piece of paper.

First of all, tenkjoe kobe4 and second, i agree with ya scub, i feel the same way, and i definately didn't say best pg all time, just right now, imho u just look a lil' too negative at things, but thats ur right, i have always been a person who did give payton enough credit(in my own eyes then ), and i consider him more as jason's equal, very close followed by marbury but at the moment, especially kidd is the one who gets his team to win, and is the heart of his team, so that makes him in my eyes the best pg at the moment, just sayin that(and no, not if payton wins he suddenly will be better than kidd, he deserves the title, i luv to c him get it, but not this way, just too easy, for gp and malone they should win the title, but i'd rather not see them in ego-lakerland)
