....Melo clearly deserves to be an All-Star.
Not that it matters, as there's a 90% chance he'll replace Yao.

But then again, why not do that when selecting the original reserves anyway?
Because the original reserves were coaches choice and injury replacements are Stern's.
If Carmelo isn't picked, it would be between Howard, Allen. I would love to see Odom in the game though.

Ahhh! Melo didn't get in! and Parker did

He better replace Yao or else..................

Boozer wont be playing, so i am hoping that randolph might be his replacement
24 ppg and almost 11 boards per game

Yep (Boozer was going to be here so I guess yep, I said 'Poor Boozer, he was having an All-Star year.')
Out of 7 so far, I have 6. WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT TONY PARKER WOULD MAKE THE ALL-STAR GAME?
There'll be one more reserve spot so hopefully one of my guesses will go in, if Boozer can't play then 2.
Poor Boozer, he was having an All-Star year.
East

yep. I got this one because I remembered that adidas made an All-Star edition shoe for Chauncey and it would be a bit of an embarrassment if Chauncey had a shoe made and wasn't in the All-Star game (He would be the only '5ive' not in)

yep
7/7
So far I have 13/14 and I hope to make it a 14/15 when the reserve is announced.

I don't get how Tony Parker made it, if they wanted a guard Baron Davis is doing better than Parker in points, boards, and assists, but regardless of the position how can they keep out Carmelo Anthony who's leading the league in ppg and was taking over the league with the Nuggets before the suspension.

Thanks for quoting all 15 pictures again...

Im so glad you wrote "ppg", cause he is NOT leading the league in points! He would be leading if he hadnt (can you say that? i am not english) got the suspension

Yes, but when people talk about a player leading the league in scoring or just plain scoring they're always talking about points per game, when they want to talk about points scored they say total points or points.

I think Carmelo mustn't be in the All-Star.I agree all the players who are gonna be in Vegas but some people say that Carmelo must be there. He missed 15-20 games..yeah but for what? I hope you remember the Knicks vs Nuggets at MSG.There was a fight and Carmelo...yeah i hope you know.

Anybody think that they should expand the roster size to 15? Every other team has 15, but the all star game has 12. Even if the extra 3 don't play, at least you can honor them with an apperance.
Sat Feb 03, 2007 1:46 pm
Josh Howard, Deron Williams, Ray Allen, Marcus Camby, Carmelo Anthony, Baron Davis, Leandro Barbosa, Elton Brand, Zach Randolph, Mehmet Okur, Pau Gasol, Jason Terry, Lamar Odom. No matter the # of games played, or their mediocrity over the season, all the Western Conf. Players mentioned above are more deserving than Tony Parker.
Josh Howard should replace Boozer (Melo doesn't deserve it, Ray Allen has tried his hardest to carry the team, but his team still sucks)
Camby is the third-best center in the West, he should replace Yao.
Sat Feb 03, 2007 1:57 pm
Lamrock what the hell is your obsession with trying to prove that Tony doesn't deserve to be an all-star?
How often do you watch him play? Because if you had watched him very often you'd know that he's having an excellent season, and other the last year, this is his best season. He's become a much better shooter then he was earlier in his career (note the 52% fgp) and he's running that Spurs offense to perfection. He's played very smart this year defensively and is just having an all around great season. I'm glad the coaches picked guys that are actually playing well, not just the guys with the highest stats.

I didn't think this warranted a new thread and this was the closest thing I could find to post this in so; Nash left tonight's game after the first half with some sort of shoulder injury. I heard that he was playing through that same shoulder injury the previous game. Anyone have news on the severity of it?

Oh, give Redick more minutes and give him the ball for 3's and he would be in the 3 PT Shootout no doubt.
i can only agree, is kapono your favorite player too?
Your a tit! Have you ever heard of training practice, you dont become a better shooter by playing games (even tho its helps, its not a bloody computer game where your stats go up) If you practice consistanlty and correctly any three ball player has a chance of winning,
you think maybe kapono has been practicing, that could be why he is surging.
and since when has the favourite won....? arsehole
since now, thats when!

Not surprising. I'm more interested in who replaces AI and who starts at center for the West.
Sat Feb 10, 2007 9:48 am
Good, maybe now he can concentrate on winning for Nuggets, rather than crying that he didn't get into all star game and airballing game winners.

They might put Duncan at the C spot. so their lineup looks like this:
Duncan
Garnett
McGrady
Bryant
Nash
or they might put Amare in the C position and have it look like this:
Stoudamire
Duncan
Garnett
McGrady
Bryant

Man thats a relief. If Melo didn't make the All Star game I would be disgusted by David Stern for making such a bad choice. Congrats Carmelo
Tue Feb 13, 2007 3:59 pm
Nash the next one to pull out of the All Star game, also skills challenge...

AI might not make it either....so far....Yao, Boozer, Nash.

I don't think an All-Star game has required so many replacements since the 1997 contest, when Chris Gatling was one of the twenty four players taking centre stage in the Gund Arena. Five players (Ewing and Mourning in the East, Shaq, Barkley and Drexler in the West) ended up pulling out of that one due to injury.
Tue Feb 13, 2007 8:30 pm
Chris Gatling was 2nd to MJ in pnts/48mins that year right? I think he got 19ppg in some 20 odd minutes.
Tue Feb 13, 2007 10:17 pm
I rated Chris Gatling as an offensive player on the low post and baseline....I always felt he was under-utilised by the teams he played for....
EDIT: Worse player on memory to make All-Star Team - Tyrone Hill. I think he was playing for Cleveland at the time & having a career year of about 13 & 10. So he was essentially having half the year that Meka is having, but on a better team.
