Going to be tough for any guard to compare to Jordan defensively because how he played defense is now illegal in today's NBA. Putting 1 hand on a driving player facing the basket is an automatic foul.

You have to play "what if" and imagine what would happen if Wade played in Jordan's days, where a guy with Josh Howard's size could put a hand, arm, and elbow into wade's torso and push him out every time he tried to drive inside without getting whistled. Would Wade have done as well?

I don't know, but i doubt it. Jordan's PPG average is far more impressive than the same PPG in today's NBA, where guys like Tony Parker or Steve Nash can score at will because playing defense is illegal.

dont think you can compare wade and mj. Simply because mj didnt have shaq like wade does. Shaq is a big factor in why wade is doing good. Sure wade is good, but we will see what happens when shaq retires, and how well wade can do without him.

Michael Jordan had the worst starting center ever to win a championship. His name: Luc Longley. Cartwright was ok, but both of those people are nowhere near Shaq, even if Shaq is far away from his prime. Jordan is superior to Wade in every way.

All role players past their primes. You think Walker's anything better than a third scorer on a championship team? Do you think Mourning and Payton are anything more than above-average backups? The fact is, the Heat are far away from the most talented winner of the NBA Championship.

Oh, and your homophobic comment really sealed your point. And you didn't embarass yourself at all..

And, guys, since when did Jordan not have one of the most versatile players of all-time/arguably the best perimeter defender of all-time, along with the greatest rebounder of all-time. Cut the crap about Wade having Shaq, who scored a measley nine points in Game 6, and was outplayed by Alonzo Mourning.

That said, there's no need for this huge uproar over one comparison. No one's saying Wade is on the same level of Jordan. That's not what comparions imply.

It's like comparing a donut from Krispy Kreme to one you found in a dumpster. We all know one is better, but there's no wrong or harm done in comparing the two.

First Shaq cant get a call and anytime he breathes on someone its a foul. Now the calls that Wade gets are flops. The hate for the heat just wont stop. I watch miami games and I dont c him flopping up and down the court. And wen he falls there is a reason.....HE WAS FOULED

Why bother comparing them when Wade is only in his third year?????? He might have the potential to become like Michael Jordan and the signs are there but he still has a long way to go. 6 Rings, 5 MVPs, 10 All-NBA, 6 Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, 9 All-Defensive, 13 All-Star.......

I can't see Wade matching these but I can see him coming somewhat close if he is on a successful team throughout his career and stays injury-free. I can only really see somebody like LeBron matching these and that is hard for him. LeBron should be better statiscally by the end of his career because it looks like he's set for a 28-33ppg,7-9rpg,6-8apg for the next 10 years at least. LeBron should get close to the 10 All-NBA, 5 MVP and 13 All-Star. The rings and Finals MVPs will depend on the success of his team. The hardest to imagine is the Defensive awards because I don't regard LeBron as a top defensive like Kobe is.

Remember though Jordan entered the league at 21 and LeBron is now 21 so LeBron has 3 years of NBA experience that Jordan didn't have and he has led his to team to a game seven on his own against arguably the best defensive team in the league and has been a 2 time All-Star winning an All-Star MVP. Also he has been considered a Season MVP for the past two seasons and has career highs so far that only one could dream of. LeBron needs a good coach over his career like Jordan had in Phil Jackson and a good GM to build a good team around LeBron increasing his chances of winning a ring.

Sorry I have went off-topic but want to express my opinion on the more likeliness of LeBron reaching the heights of Jordan more-so than Wade.

It's playing style that puts Wade in front of LeBron when comparing to MJ. There still is one thing i don't get it. Why all the hatred? I understand people hating players like Bryant (because of his unwillingness to pass the ball or because of taking bad shots). I mean, Wade is really playing with heart out there and always tries to do what's best for his team. With these abilities that he has NOW he could only cut down on turnovers. You can't say his defense sucks. Sure it's not on MJ's level, but hey, he's still at least 5 years away from his prime. He'll get better at it. And those Heat haters, one question: why don't you like Wade? What part of his game annoys you? I am really curious. Or do you hate him just because he gets all the media attention? Or because he burried Mavs in the Finals? I mean, the guy is probably the most unselfish superstar along with James and Nash. His shooting percentage is above standards...I just don't get it :? ..

My only gripe is that he's being compared to the greatest player of all time because of 6 games. I miss the days where someone had to consistantly achieve something throughout their career to deserve such a comparison. It's mostly the media's fault, but alot of people get sucked into it aswell.

Certainly Wade showed alot of poise in the Finals and throughout the playoff.... boy I missed those days... anyways he's only in his 3rd season and already a ring? that's a nice accomplishment but as far as overall statue he has a long long way to go. I just hope he and Lebron can establish a rivalry in the EAST.... that would be a lot of fun for the next 10-12 years.
