So 'Homer' was born at these forums?

Tue Apr 04, 2006 8:38 pm

I'm not 100% sure about that... the first person I saw use it was Air Gordon, and I doubt he would've used it because of the poster "Homer".

Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:47 pm

Itd be cool if it was, ive seen homer used in this context at a few other forums... (probly by NLSC members though :?)

Yeah thats what I thought. I can't actually remember any of his posts though. Lol, I knew about the Simpson's definition of "Homer", I love that episode, mainly because Magic Johnson is in it :) .

"Looks like I just pulled a Homer!"
-Magic Johnson
After slipping on water and having the ball fly out of his hands, off a ref's head, and into the basket for the game winning three pointer in Simpsons epsiode 5, 3rd season.

Where's the picture benji? There's got to be a picture of it when it's a Simpson's reference.

Apparently you don't listen to what you say.

I did move on. Then I was getting all this bull shit, (While NOT talking about Paul Pierce) and then I explained why everyone doesn't like me WHICH included talking about Pierce. Now, that I mention his name, you guys go crazy.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off, people are just trying to piss me off.

I'm done arguing. This is ridiculous.

Homer is far far far from an NLSC invention. Homer is used in Indiana even more so then the word bias. "I can't really decide who to root for (Celtics vs. Pacers) because I'm such a Larry Bird homer, so I always loved the Celtics." "My brackets always suck because I'm a homer towards southern teams."

Homer just means being biased towards your home.

Wed Apr 05, 2006 6:53 am

Homer is use in almost every forum I've been to. 2k was saying it long ago.

Wed Apr 05, 2006 8:21 am

Apparently you don't listen to what you say.

I didn't, because I was writing

If you really moved on, then you wouldn't made that post about why people didn't liked you.

Wed Apr 05, 2006 8:23 am

Yea, Homer has been around for quite a while, I don't even think it started on the internet.

Anyways, New Jersey has been crazy lately, and the best thing about them is that they're winning through very good defense as opposed to above average defense and a lot of scoring from Vince.

That wasn't argueing. I was reasoning. I was explaining to him why.

Shh. Fine, I guess THIS post is argueing. Now move on chumpy.

Wed Apr 05, 2006 11:51 am

Hurry. Change your spelling.

Chumpy.

Datruth...seriously..your ranting is annoying. You might wanna think about seriously moving on from this topic...just a little recommendation from your local mod.

I was watching the Hawks game with fun then quickly turn pissed

We play our ususaly suffiating defense in the first 3 quarters, and then we got too cocky. I think we gave up 37 in the fourth. Again to the hawks. *nodding head*

I just like ending arguements so I don't get shit from people over and over.

But yes, you're correct. I'm done with this thread.

Correction, you're done with your "if I'm bias" discussion, but the Nets' push to the Finals will live on. 13 in a row baby. I'm still mad as hell after that Hwak game.

I stand corrected. I haven't encountered the term anywhere else and the Homer story fits. There goes his claim to fame.

Ah, excellent. Haven't made one in a while. :D

I wonder which one of those bitches in that pic gave him HIV/AIDS.

Wed Apr 05, 2006 4:01 pm

All of them.

Anyway, narrow win tonight against ATL. Stop slacking, VC.

VC wasn't slacking. It was Frank who pull him out of the first 6 minutes of the 4qt because he thought the game was over. You can't blame him. I bet you all of us thought it was over after the 3th, even the players, since most of them were slacking and turning the ball over ball over. After he came in, he save the day again. He made a 3pt after the lead was cut down to 1 and momemtum was stritch to the Hawks. VC da man!

Thu Apr 06, 2006 11:10 pm

 at Yohance's remark about the Laker girls.
