Shaq is the hardest player to guard.Just look at him when he gets down low, nobody can stop him. When we are talking about the other players, there's alot off them Kobe,AI,Lebron...

Yao would be very close if he continued his recent dominance.
He's got the body and skills offensively, but that he being shut down by diaw never faded away.
That got to be something to do with his mentality.

please say you voted for kobe

, the guy scored 81....i say its kind of hard to guard a player who scores 81

Kobe atm but LBJ23 will take that honour soon in a about 3-4 seasons.

u are probably right LeBron is a amazing baller but right now i would say Kobe is clearly the most unstopable Player

Depends on who you are, for a guy like Artest, it's much harder to guard a Wade or Arenas than a Lebron James or Kobe. For a guy like Earl Watson, it would be the opposite.
Iverson, Kobe, and Arenas would be my picks. Wade would be pretty hard too, but he's not in there.

Iverson No doubt.

And I thought the dead could never be ressurected.

1. shaq
2. amare
3. nowitzki
4. nash
5. yao
6. kg/duncan
7. wade/lebron
8. kobe/iverson/pierce/tmac
9. arenas/parker/rip
10. brand/marion/gasol/melo
Nash @ #4? Jason Kidd would disagree. Duncan doesn't deserve a top 10 spot this season. Nowitzki can't stop that J, has to be above Amare. Kobe #8? that's ridiculous, in fact, 1-on-1 Kobe is the hardest to stop in the NBA. He's got it all. Shaq can overpower but his little jump hook is weak when contested.

I think Rip Hamilton is underatted in this, while he's not the best one on one guy, most players hate running around screens all day when guarding someone. Some guys are better offensive players than another guy, but won't always be hard to guard because they'll settle for a lot of easy shots instead of working. That's one thing that would make a guy like Wade harder to guard than some of the guys who like to shoot a lot of jumpers, cause he'll almost always make you work on defense.

what kinda question is this, its obviously kobe, in his recent article in sports illustrated mike d'antoni said he was by far the most individually talented and best player in the league.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 11:59 am
And if Mike D'Antonio said he can shit out gold nuggets I too will believe him.
Its all about matchups and the defensive player. One defensive player can completely shut a superstar while other superstars might be able to drop 50 on that defender.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 12:08 pm
I voted Kobe but Iverson is right there. Now that I think about it, Iverson is probably harder cuz he is very hard to keep up with and refs seem to protect him with iffy calls plenty of times. Kobe is defended well most times but he just consistently makes impossibly difficult shots (if that makes sense). You just gotta tip your hat.

I gotta give it up for AI. If only he's 6'6" and with that speed, he'd be the greatest/hardest/sickest playa to guard ever! Remember the time when the great MJ used to "accidentally" guard him one on one? Broke 'im not once but twice, brutha!
Fri Apr 21, 2006 5:22 pm
Please shutup.
Sat Apr 22, 2006 2:15 pm
its obviously shaq, once he gets the ball in the lane there is literally nothing you can do to stop him. My next choice would be kobe, as of this year he's ben unstoppable one on one except for a few nights when he's just been off.
Sat Apr 22, 2006 2:24 pm
You can't ask this question without giving the name of the defender.
For example, say Vince Carter... he might defend good against say, T-Mac, but Vince would suck at defending Lebron, but T-Mac can kill Lebron at D...confusing but yeah.
A lot of peopel say Shaq because of size... but what if you are quick? And what if you are Shaq and playing Kobe? Kobe will take 3s and Shaq would be useless.

Every single player in the NBA down to the last guy off the bench on the worst team in the league would torch every one of us.
Sat Apr 22, 2006 2:42 pm
^ That's not the point. We're talking about NBA players guarding NBA players.
Sat Apr 22, 2006 4:41 pm

same as Wade, LeBron, Kobe, Vince.....except they don't need to get the ball, they can work it themselves whereas shaq is reliant on teammates.
