At first I thought he was a bit overrated, but then I began tracking his games and every time I expected him to fall short he came up big. He has been stepping up his game as more people take notice.

CP3 overrated???? Dude shutup man. Ur just saying that because him and Williams are being compared, and your a Jazz fan

Anyways back on topic.......

Yea ok, thats great but CP3 is still better. Everyone thought Deron Williams was going to be better. Alot of the Draft anyalist people were saying Williams has natural PG skills, and his Jump shot is better.

CP3 kills, no he rapes Williams on natural PG skills, and jumpshots. And also rebounding, defense ball handeling skills etc.....Calling CP3 overrated is just retarded. Because he had one shitty game, hes overrated?? Then look at who CP3 has compared to who DWill has:

CP3 made David West who he is. Without CP3 West would be good, but not like he is. JR Smith hasnt gotten any minutes, and DMase is really ovverated. Hes a dunker.

Williams, on the other hand has AK-47 whos really good. Accept when Pierce makes him cry like a little girl. Okur whos pretty good. Boozers ok. Hes been out with injury though...I think

Williams has alot more to go to then CP3, but hes made that team a playoff contender. And thats definatley hard consitering all the powerhouses in the West. But clearly CP3 has and will do a better job with the Hornets than DWill will do with Utah.

Derron is an awesome player but not to be compared to how CP3 is playing.

DW..
PPG: 9.4

APG: 3.8

SPG: .81

CP3...

PPG: 16.1

APG: 7.7

SPG: 2.28

Now Derron doesn't get the same game time as CP3, but even if he did CP3 is way better....

Being a Jazz Fan that's what I think....

When you look at this draft class there aren't really any players you can really hype yourself about or players that are making a huge impact in their first year (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and the others). So I guess they need to divert their attention to something special in the draft and Paul is so far the one that stands out the most.

CP3 is the rookie that makes your eyes pop out of your head. Amazing assists, awesome drives to name a few.

He's a little overatted because of the people who make it out to seem like he's the only guy doing anything on the Hornets. He's definately not overatted for the reason stated in the original post. Paul has a very nice mid-range shot, he's not a 3PT shooter yet, but he can definately shoot the ball.

All in all, overatted does not equal bad player. Being overatted just means you're given more credit than due, or considered better than you actually are. He's a borderline All-Star already, a good player, and a very good PG.

I wouldn't say he's a border line allstar because he is yet to prove himself of that and I think he can become a great 3 pt man.

Sat Feb 25, 2006 11:23 am

I dont think hes an allstar yet either. I think if anyone else (not a rookie) had those numbers wouldnt be an all-star. So because hes a rookie and he has those numbers people think he shouldve been an allstar. I dont think he should have (and he wasnt) Next year probally.

Personal production: 16 ppg 8 apg 5 rpg 2 spg. His personal stats are as good as LeBron's in his rookie year. Bron scored 2 more buckets & CP dropped 2 more dimes.

Team Leadership: Hornets are ahead of Kobe's Lakers, nuff said.

Toughness: the guy is playing with torn thumb ligaments, that's why he has the white bandage on his shooting hand. If any of you had that kind of injury, your balls are probably curling up even thinking about getting that thumb hit again.

Heart: In HS, when his grandfather was murdered, CP went out and scored 61 points in honor of his memory. He was on track to break all sorts of records and took himself out of the game so he would score exactly 61, his grandfather's age that year.

Were Carmelo and Lebron considered borderline All-Stars in their rookie years? Well he's doing as good as they did, and arguably [actually it is] better, so why not him?

Why do people get off on calling Player A a better leader than Kobe because his team has a better win/loss record? Do you not bother looking at the actual rosters, I mean for fuck sakes Speedy Claxton averages the same numbers as Paul when he starts. I don't see Von Wafer coming in and putting up 35ppg if Kobe's out of the lineup
