That's actually a great idea and would be great for both sides. As you said, the Bucks would get improved D and get more playing time for their bigs on the bench (Gadzuric) and the Pacers would - finaly - get a decent starting C.
Bogut - Smith - Artest - Reed - Ford and Magloire - O'Neal - Granger - Jackson - Tinsley looks fine to me.

Why would the Bucks do that? They're already stacked at small forward. Between Simmons, Welsh, Kukoc and that other guy I think it's too much of a log-jam to add Artest into the mix. Not to mention that they already have a shot-happy backcourt so adding Artest would only further remove the big men from the O.

I spend way too much time at the RealGM Bucks forums.

Ron Artest, a self-pity whiny bitch. After the way the Indiana organization stood by him this is the way he treats them, demanding a trade? Ungrateful asshole.
I don't think I'm going to maximize my opportunity just playing defense.

He hasn't heard of Ben Wallace? Artest could still get money, like Ben, by just playing superb defense (and winning a championship).

He also has issues to deal with Carlisle. :|
HE'S USING HYPNOSIS!

I'd trade him for Hughes without a doubt. Hughes is about as close to equal value as we're gonna get.

My list of guys I'm willing to trade him for: (that we could actually get)
Shane Battier
Rashard Lewis
Lamar Odom
Larry Hughes
Mickael Pietrus
Al Harrington
Peja (as long as we get Brad Miller in the deal somehow, without giving up much more.) 8-)

You want Miller back, eh?

I think most of those trades could be feasable, but I'm not sure which ones are realistic.

Ron Artest has an interview with FOX tonight to "set the record straight" on all of this. I'll let you guys know what he says as soon as I know.

Too bad NBA league pass doesn't show interviews as well as games. :|

Cable Guy: Trading Brad Miller in order to re-sign Jon Bender was the worst move in Pacers history. Even worse then drafting Bender in the first place.

After Miller's last few games I don't think he's going anywhere.

Peja for Artest straight up would be retarded.

If we can get anything close to Al Harrington I will be thrilled. After all of this, his trade value is destroyed.

I feel awful, like I've been kicked in the nuts.

You say west coast as if that matters. Do you really think Larry and Donnie are going to try to accomadate his wishes?

Actually, if Artest gets the trade, it could be for Rashard Lewis from Seattle. There was some talk about him not going to resign for the Sonics when his contract was up...

They could maybe switch the players and see if that makes them happy... I would think that Lewis would be willing to stay in Indy since that is a contender team and Artest, well I don't what he will be happy with, I don't think even he knows...

Artest for Lewis... That could be done based on all rumors that have come from the league...

Not Larry and Donnie but the receivers for Artest will care. Why trade for someone who won't be there long?

Battier is West Coast too.

Anyways, like i said, Indy if it's smart, WILL NOT TRADE TO A GOOD East Team. Clevelanfd will not get Artest, and neither will NY (unless they ger Frye & Ariza).

Indy will not accomodate his wishes.

so try this
Bulls get Peja
Kings get Artest
Pacers get Gordon + Thomas

I do not know if it is ok with the $$$$$ :?:

I hope it's not OK with Pax. Peja may have been an All-Star, he may be a deadly shooter and a proven scorer, but that doesn't automatically make him a good fit anywhere in the league.

Probably not so much accomodating his wishes as much as keeping him out of the Division and Conference. Once upon a time they could have sent him to the Clippers but this season that doesn't qualify as a punishment.

Toronto ? That would be a cruel and unusual punishment.

he will retire if he goes to toronto lol

For the Knicks to acquire him, they would have to find someone with a matching salary, which would be tricky considering all the players the Knicks want to trade make about twice that amount. Malik Rose makes $7.1 and $7.6 next year, but if the Knicks wanted to trade him, they would have to package him with someone else. Indiana would probably ask for Channing Frye.

please not frye... he won't develop to his full potential behind JO
take ariza instead.. as much as i like him he is the best fit for the pacers since he is a defender like artest and doesn't care about stats

Frye would play C and JO @ PF.

But Knicks are not giving up Frye, however Thomas sanity level isn't exactly high.

My top picks for Artest are Pierce, R. Lewis and Al Harrington...and of course, T. Prince :) (but that won't happen)
