huh

I didn't get "worked up" over it. I said it's stupid...which it was...and it's probably why people on the Lakers didn't like him.
...and who gets "worked up" over meaningless things on the forum...me or you?
By the way, while you're talking about English, you should learn to spell "athleticism."

So Kobe is expected to be perfect all the time and not be allowed to joke around with his teamates? He is probably the only guy in the nba with enough balls to stand upto shaq and do that, even as a joke.
As for the rest of your post, its off topic and consider this a warning. Whoops, I didn't post that in red. I know you dont like that so consider that a second warning
Sat Oct 29, 2005 12:37 pm
egarrett i dont understand why youre being so anal about it. he was joking around in practice and you're telling me this is one of the reasons why people don't respect him, because he jokingly dunked on shaq when he wasn't looking? come on man.

Teammates is spelled with two "m's." You shouldn't make sarcastic comments about other people's English.

You're still throwing fits about stuff that happened last year. You shouldn't complain about other people getting "worked up."
To j.23...
We'd have to see what happened afterward. You can't really tell without Shaq's reaction...I just figure that Kobe was being a jerk.

feels like a spelling bee contest

I don't revise my posts religously unlike others. It's pretty funny though, as a mod you demanded people stay on topic, but here you are blatently off topic.
But seeing you asked so nicely: How am I throwing fits exactly? I know you try to twist things, but me making a joke about it isnt throwing a fit is it? And you talk about being worked up, you have quoted insignificant typos 3 times in this thread. That to me is being worked up.

1. You pulled it off-topic by questioning English. I'm simply pointing out your poor spelling...like the way you try to spell blatantly with an "e." It's just to indicate that you shouldn't be insulting people that way.
2. If someone replies to ask me a question while I'm typing, why would I not edit the post to reply to them? It's easier than posting twice. What else should I do?
I was simply annoyed by what Kobe did. You're free to disagree...let's talk about basketball, dude, and finally get over this.
Sat Oct 29, 2005 12:54 pm
lol wtf i am talking basketball. 90% of your last 2 or 3 posts have been off topic. If you really want to end the "feud" between me and you, add me to msn. We'll work it out...

Yeah Kobe was being a jerk, in a positive way. Do you think its impossible for professional athletes to joke around before, during and after practice? And in case you didnt see it, I posted a video of this dunk a few posts up and you can clearly see Kobe having a smile on his face and Malone aswell. Do you think Shaq would get mad or something? Why do you need to see a video to see Shaqs reaction? Its quite obvious to me how he would react.
Sat Oct 29, 2005 12:55 pm
sometimes i wish we could all just get along. i would be so happy if i woke up tomorrow and heard that kobe and shaq squashed their beef and became best of friends. im kinda gettin tired of this nonsense especially after watching old laker games where theyd be congratulation each other good plays.

Can you ladies stop agruing over if you are talking on topic or not?

Well, Kobe and Shaq aren't exactly the best of friends. You fool around with friends a lot differently than with people you aren't close to...
That's why I'd have to see if Shaq laughed or if Shaq just looked at him like "What the heck are you doing?" Their relationship was so weird that it could go either way...
Sat Oct 29, 2005 1:06 pm
If they hated each other at the time Kobe wouldn't have done it.
Sat Oct 29, 2005 1:11 pm
They might hate each other right now, but most of the time they actually got along pretty well. Maybe they never were big friends or anything, but they got along and respected eachother most of the time. When they had their little "fueds", the media was right there to make a big deal out of it and thats why alot of people who never really followed the Lakers as close as the fans do, thought they were always fighting.
For me its still impossible to not see that Kobe was doing this in a joking manner.
Sat Oct 29, 2005 1:20 pm
I'd just like to see Shaq's reaction. It could be a laugh, or it could be a "haha, now get off of me." You can read a lot into body language.

it's kinda hard to see how some people can't.
Sat Oct 29, 2005 1:37 pm
It's just a fun moment at informal practice, I don't know what does everyone complain about!
Exactly... im 5 foot 6 and i rejected my 6 foot 5 team mate and we didnt start beating the shit out of each other
my point is, it was jokingly and just Let. It. Go.
Sat Oct 29, 2005 3:27 pm
There was a trampoline in front of the basket for Kobe to jump on
Sun Oct 30, 2005 1:21 am
It is probably clowning around but its unproffesional to dunk on someone from behind specially taking the relationship into play. If Corey Maggette did it to Elton Brand I would say the same thing that its weak, theres a risk that someones spine could snap when you get 230+ pounds suddenly slamming down on you....imagine if he ended Shaq's career or maybe fractured his neck, will it still be a 'pwn' dunk?
Sun Oct 30, 2005 1:43 am
Ending Shaqs career because of a stupid dunk?

K0be4mvp wrote:Ending Shaqs career because of a stupid dunk?

So you admit the dunks stupid?
Injuries to the spine or neck can normally leave people paralysed and I have yet to see a paralysed human being playing in the NBA, no Oliver Miller doesnt classify as paralysed hes just fat and really slow. Everyone knows what happend to TJ Ford after his fall, hes lucky he isnt in a wheel-chair right now....sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest consequences.
Sun Oct 30, 2005 8:11 pm
that's just irrational thinking. kobe dunked on shaq with shaq having his back turned on him. i'm pretty sure thats much safer than shaq dunking, shattering the backboard and pulling down the basket which might've crushed him. (and yes this did happen in orlando)
i don't even see why this is even a debatable subject, they were clowning around in practice. someone mentioned earlier kobe wouldn't have done it at all if he knew shaq was going to react negatively.
Mon Oct 31, 2005 12:33 am
So you admit the dunks stupid?
Nope. The dunk was awesome. Nothing happend, the chance of something happening is 0.0000000001244%. And even if something would happen, if would probably be Kobe who has the biggest chance of getting hurt.

TJ Ford's fall wasn't really the biggest cause of his injury - his deformed spine was.
