Yeh but clearly if they wanted to win games THIS season, they wouldnt have let walker or pierce go....or they would have tried to getter different players for them.

zmac,

Antoine and Paul led the team to almost finals in 2002..They were the All-Star of that team..The problem with Celts are their role players for their star players. And right now they have plenty of guards without balancing other positions.i mean team will not win if that is the scenario.for me, they shud have let Paul and antoine stay and build a solid players around them on that,it'll make sense brother!! Nooooooooo I was hoping we'd get Pierce.

I cant believe this trade, the Celtics must have a trade already planned to get rid of Marcus Banks & Delonte West and they acquire a small forward back. Maybe something the Hawks might come up for Al Harrington, but still I think this is going to end up a bad trade on both parties. Carmelo is going to leave Denver if he doesnt get his chance to shine and Pierce takes over, although even if they say the trades almost done I find it hard to believe since the Nuggets were about to sign Nene to an extension a few days back and George Karl had started becoming a big fan of Andre Miller.

If Paul Pierce will be traded, the team will not only loose an all-star,they'll also loose their hope to be in the playoffs.. :x

Thu Sep 08, 2005 11:40 pm

1. Delonte is the least likely of the guards to be moved
2. Rebuilding while winning have been Ainges thing from the get go. This could mean he feels that the team without Pierce can indeed win - while rebuilding
3. Rotation of Gomes/Reed/Veal at SF seems too gamblish to me. If this goes down, watch for a trad that involves a Pg for a SF.
4. Still not a done deal, and many factors make it an unlikely one.

Wow if this happens I have my '06 dynasty team decided.

Fri Sep 09, 2005 5:41 am

But for fucks sake, can't you people read?

It's a rumour, and an unlikely one at that. WEEI just shot it down when they talked to a high ranking member of the Celtics

Ok? It's not going to happen. It was a rumour all along. Sheesh.

I was just gonna say that. This shit not gonna happen, like Habakkuk said, "It's jus a rumour" so be easy.

Fri Sep 09, 2005 5:49 am

Fri Sep 09, 2005 5:52 am

Anthony15, if you read the stories that are out there now that
high ranking member of the Celtic or ganization is Danny Ainge, Now if i were talking to a team about a trade and the guy in charg said NO i would prolly take that as a real answer and what do you mean persuaded Pierce? Hes a member of the Boston Celtics for now hes got a contract he cant talk to other teams and vice-versa...but

That has to be bogus, unless theres another trade in the works for Boston they would have 6 pgs and to REALLY good Bigs. Denver does awesome if its true, that must be why the signed Watson.

Its too bad i really like Andre Miller...

Kiki will figure out the rade...don't worry!

Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:04 am

Not if Ainge already has said it BS. Kiki's good but this trade would be really one sided Boston would have a team that has half point guards and half power forwards...

Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:10 am

Ah, so you live in Lala-land. That figures why you're clueless.

Now why, oh why, would Celtics take on another PG? Yes we can cut Bynum, and move Banks. That leaves us with 4 PG's. One proven PG, one combo-guard that hasn't proven shit when it comes to leading a running team on the break, a good transition PG who can't defend for shit (on a team that highly stresses defence), and a rookie that's out with a injury until atleast december. Yeah, makes sense getting a PG for us.

Nene is the price, but is useless unless he or Al can play C. A position where Perk could be a good starter. Doc loves Perk. So does DA.

Maybe, maybe if we cuff Blount with PP and get Lenard in exchange. But that doesn't really make sense for Denver neither.

They loose the only good PG they have, leaving the team with a very, very, very, short Earl. And an Earl that has zero to none offensive game.
And they get Carmelo the Older, making that two chuckers battling for shots at the 2 and 3. Their PF-position severely thin, and an injury to Camby and Martin could break the whole team. Now you don't suggest that Kleiza can handle that, are you?

Add to that, Karl dislikes PP and PP dislikes Karl. Oh, and the fact that the Celtics organization is denying this rumour.

Get your head out of your ass.

Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:17 am

Didn't Denver get Earl Watson ?

( Out of Topic )

Me?

I was just throwing that out there, i couldnt care less what Ainge does with his team its just six PGs....sorry five cuase Will Bynum is nothing i guess, but still you would have an overload in the back-court and your offense would run through Ricky Davis and Al Jefferson...
Not enough fire power, and dont say Gerald Green cause he wont be an impact player this year.

And for Denver They have Klieza and Elson in the front court and they could potentially sign another...Im not favoring anyone im just putting in my input.

Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:25 am

i look at this from a standpoint of the nuggs had to do something. they got beat by the spurs last year and the spurs jus got finely so the nuggs knew that some improvement to their team had to be made. plus does anyone know if spree still gonna sign with the nuggets?

for boston i agree that they really wasnt gonna go anywhere this year and im sure they will probably lose some ticket sales with the loss of pierce but hopefully for them in the long run it will pay off. if this does happen maybe GP will take his game down to south florida to my Miami Heat

oh lol ok sorry Habakkuk

Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:41 am

I dont think it will happen, If so thats retarded Celtics will have 6 PGs, but atleast Gerald Green will be getting 20-25mpg :D

im from Boston, I think this trade would suck. We dont need another PG, we need a SG/SF. Yea we have Green, Davis, Allen, and Gomes....BUT

#1 Allen is introuble with the cops, and Ainge doesnt want that
#2 Gomes will get about 5mpg
#3 Green is a rookie.....why would he start?? Unless Pierce is traded for a PG, PF or C.
#4 That leaves Ricky at the 3 spot(or 2). Now we need 2-Guard. So we should trade Pierce for a SG/SF, I cant imagine Ainge doing this, unless he makes another trade with Dickau, Banks, Allen and someone for a SG/SF

Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:57 am

Create even more logjam at the 123? Makes no sense.

You totally left out Reed, a mistake. That bugger will show his worth come next season. 5 min for Gomes is very, very, very underestimated if Paul leaves. See him getting 18, while Green gets 5. Every person in the Celtics organization labels Green as very raw, while Gomes gets his praise sung.

Allen has not been proven guilty, even though he seems in the crud. And his jumpshot looked good (better) in the SL, which maybe will mean that he'll be a solid starter for next years campaign.

I think they're going to release Gary Payton. Dan Dickau isn't exactly starter quality, and Tony Allen can most likely swing to the 2. So I don't think they're that overloaded.

Gerald Green might start. The Celtics are rebuilding, and High School players have been getting better as years go on. Of course, Green won't be Lebron, but a Josh or J.R. Smith sort of impact can be expected.

I think it would be a great trade for them.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets would be...well who knows what they would be. They'd add their shooting guard, but would lose a lot at the point. Boykins is really good, but still probably just too small to be a full-time starter.

And can Pierce and Melo co-exist? Their games are similar. Neither of them improve their teammates. I think it'll just be one isolates on the wing while the other stands around, or one posts up while the other stands around...repeat.
