He's a top 5 PG in the league. You think he's a SG? That's what the position is these days. There really are only three true pgs in the league (Kidd, Nash and Knight) that are starters. The position has changed over the years, it's what it is now.

You have the Marbury's, Francis', Arenas', Iverson's, ect.

True. Those are the only true starting PGs.
Its sad that now most point guards are point shooting guards.

Gary Payton over Billups? Parker over Billups? Miller over Billups? Hell, I wouldn't take Bibby or Davis over Billups. I wouldn't put Tony Parker over Arenas, Miller or Billups. Oh wait, he has championships rings so he's better.

get over yourself. someone has the nerve to say garnett isnt a perfect god of a human being and you take any chance you can to jump on them, its pretty immature and transparent. if you dont agree with me dont roll your eyes, say something worthwhile or shut up. why isnt billups there? i forgot him, plain and simple. i would put him at 6 ahead of marbury or maybe even 4 or 5.

 It's not just Garnett it's the fact that you basically called every great player who hasn't won a ring overrated simply because of that.

Not a Top 10 PG? That's laughable indeed, what, are you going to say guys like Parker and Tinsley are better than Gil.

1) Jason Kidd
2) Allen Iverson
3) Steve Nash
4) Baron Davis
5) Stephon Marbury
6) Gilbert Arenas
7) Mike Bibby
8) Steve Francis [even though he's not really a PG, and his game as a PG does not really help his team, he is still talented as an individual]
9) Chauncey Billups
10) Dre Miller
11) Jason Terry
12) Kirk Hinrich
13) Tony Parker
14) Jason Williams
15) Brevin Knight

HM: Watson, Payton, Mo Williams, Damon

TJ Ford would be in the list if he was healthy......

was barkley in my top 10 overrated list? no. was kevin johnson? no. was chris mullin? mitch richmond? no. no. elgin baylor? no. gervin? no. pistol pete or dom wilkins? no.

why? because no ones stupid enough to think they're on par with the champion star players, thus they're not overrated. i tell how it is, don't be bitter because you cant defend your favorite player with anything, but "oh i wish duncan and garnett switched places." you know what? so do i, so you could finally shut up. it would be like the kobe fans whining, "oh let shaq leave, kobe will be mvp", look what happened to that schmuck. he's just a player, its not like im insulting your mother.

It's the fact that you think great players should outplay great teams. It's a joke, in my eyes. It takes a team to win in a professional sport (team sport).\

But whatever, I'm just bitter.

Doesn't matter if a player averages 35 points per game, if he doesn't have a good cast around him he is not gonna get far. Great players that dont win a championship are definetly not overrated.

yes they are if you consider them as good as larry bird, magic, bill russel, jordan, hakeem, shaq, or duncan, etc.. if you dont, then they arent for you, but they are for somebody else.

Am I the only one who thinks it's wrong to put Duncan in the category of Russell, Bird, Magic, Hakeem and others?

fgrep, no Tinsley??

Brevin Knight over Tinsley??

I hope you just forgot to put him in there because... averaging 15 and 6 on a championship contending team is better then more then half of your list.

Its hard to make a point guard list because I don't consider Iverson, Francis, Marbury to be true point guards.

I'll try to make one:

1.) Steve Nash
2.) Jason Kidd
3.) Chauncy Billups
4.) Jamaal Tinsley
5.) Steve Francis
6.) Mike Bibby
7.) Baron Davis
8.) Gilbert Arenas
9.) Stephon Marbury
10.) Andre Miller

This list is about how they play the point guard position. How good they are at leading the team, setting up the offense, getting assists. If it were just on talent, the list would be different.

I don't get the Billups pick, he's not a pure PG, and he's not Top 5 in terms of being a scoring PG, he was basically a scoring PG on a team that had a coach who wanted more of a passer at PG. His defense was overatted just like Tayshaun's and Rip's, because of the 2 men behind him. He's not bad defensively, but definately not an All-NBA defender, and what else does he have?

...or is he just getting ranked high because he's on a good team?

I love Chauncey ever since he was on the Wolves, the guy is the real deal. He is so strong he overpowers the other point guards. He could average 25ppg if Larry Brown wanted him to, watch out this year because Flip's system requires a shoot-first point guard.

Billups is a great defender because he is quick for his size and if you combine that with his strength he is a monster.

As you can tell, I'm very high on Billups. Especially considering over the years he has improved and become a better decison maker and floor general.

Chauncy is a pure point guard. Obviously he didn't used to be, but once he came to Detroit and won the title that all changed. He averaged 6 assists per game, but that stat is underrated. He is the best pull up 3 point shooter in the league, which is something scoring point guards have to be able to do. He also has amazing court vision. A point guard who keeps Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Rasheed Wallace all happy is a good point guard.

That said, I hate chauncy billups almost as much as I hate Kobe Bryant and Chris Webber.
