If this trade goes through, the Wolves rather benefit from this trade than the Pistons since Ben is a defensive specialist while Sheed is an emotional player that could make anything happen to the team he play with. For KG, as if he can make the Pistons a better team than last season. Pistons will lose their interior defence alot. Also, who is going to play C for the Pistons? This trade will not happen. Pistons already developed their chemistry together so why would they make any changes. If Billups can hits those layups in game 5, the Pistons probably will win their second straight titles.

I don't understand this trade rumour, or the article.

The article starts off about the trade rumour, then the guy gives the Raptors a bashing. Then concludes with it's a trade rumour or something.

Silly....

It does seem to end with them thinking about how the Raptors could get KG :?

In fact, the Lakers will probably sign their Bosh in 2007. This franchise has practically zero chances to contend for a title. Ever.

Yeah, that writer could be thinking about trading Matt Bonner for KG. :x

Look at that ferocious D!!! No WAY does he make that shot

wow, is that a hand in the face and the other on the ball!?
why didnt anyone call him a defensive player.... :x

just read the article and it makes no sense at all no sources, no ideas just stating a rumor... don't know how this guy turned into a newspaper reporter

Oh man... I can't believe people think the Wolves are making the mistake here.

Detroit would be absolutly killing their chances this season. One of the things that make teams great is chemistry and fluency on both sides of the ball. All 5 Piston players know each other inside out, and as much as I hate to admit it, they have the best starting 5 in the NBA. If they made this trade, they end up losing their identity and their cohesiveness. Losing both Wallaces also badly hurts their team defense.

I would be so thrilled if Detroit made this trade.

Any team with a starting lineup made of Garnett, Prince, Hamilton and Billups is still a major contender.

The reason the Pistons have been able to handle the Pacers in the playoffs the last two years (other then injuries) is because of their post defense.

On offense their guards kill us, but we really don't have a problem against them with them scoring too many points. The problem is that the two Wallaces absolutly destroy JO. Jermaine is incapable of scoring 25+ more then maybe once in a 7 game series against the Wallaces. However, against KG, Jermaine has had many great games. In fact, Jermaine owns KG. To take away their post up defense makes them so much less of a scary team.

Yeah the Pacers are... wait... this thread had nothing to do with the Pacers. Awell.

You're right Jae, its ridiculous to analyze what the new Pistons team would look like by talking about how they would match up against a division rival who they have played deep in the playoffs the two past years.

Dumbass.

Sun Aug 07, 2005 1:43 am

But do we must have them in every single thread? I mean, c'mon .

It's a tradition... Until they get a title,or Indy retires from the forum, they'll be the talk of the NLSC. So that means we're stuck with them at least until 2009, at which point TD's contract with the Spurs will be over...

Yes, because everyone was discussing how they match up with Indiana before you got involved. Just what we need, every single thread in NBA Talk to be blessed with your completely unbiased opinion on the Indiana Pacers.

I like Indy's passion. :D In fact, I'm going to be an avid , biased to the bone GS fan from now on... You go, Indy! (Y)

Sun Aug 07, 2005 1:58 am

It's not passion. Passionate people keep an open mind.

Not always, although it's generally better to do so...

Anyways, I was a little pissed of at first when Indy went on and on (and on) about the Pacers, but the fact that he is always open to the occasional Reggie joke made it alright in my book. (Y)

Sun Aug 07, 2005 5:23 am

You're right, I don't have an open mind. That's why I was praising Tayshaun Prince earlier in this thread. That's also why I say the Rockets improved their chances of getting a ring this season. That's also why I was quick to jump in and DEFEND Larry Brown when people were saying he went to the Knicks only for money. That's also why I said a few posts ago that the Wallaces own Jermaine in the post.

I know about the Pacers. I know them inside out. What I can offer to this forum is the viewpoint of someone who lives with the pacers. I see everything from the Pacers perspective. You don't understand it Jae, because you live in Austrailia. You don't see every single game.

I see the Pistons quite a bit, and the Pacers and Pistons are probably the biggest rivalry in the NBA right now. Is it so wrong of me to bring up the example of JO and their lack of post up defense if Ben Wallace and Rasheed Walace are traded? I guess so.

Sun Aug 07, 2005 6:00 am

Keeping an open mind would mean not being so openly and sometimes ridiculously biased about a team. I mean you can praise whatever players you like from other teams, it means nothing. You have a habit of turning threads about virtually anything into something to do with the Pacers. Shoot me for being observant.

Sun Aug 07, 2005 6:21 am

that will be a great trade i think

Point out where in my post I said anything biased towards the Pacers?

Take away my pacers sig and avatar and the "we's" and "us's" and it looks like an outsider looking in.

If you can prove me wrong, I will never post in NBA talk again, and I will never get involved in discussions about the NBA again.

Sun Aug 07, 2005 4:40 pm

I wasn't talking about this thread specifically  I was speaking in general.

Although saying that Jermaine "owns" KG is a start...

I've been doing some research on that one...

2004-2005 Season, November 9th IND vs MIN

Jermaine O'Neal:
22 points (9/22) 8 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 steal, 4 turnovers, 3 blocks, 6 fouls

Kevin Garnett: 22 points (8/21) 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, 1 turnover, 0 blocks, 4 fouls

2003-2004 Season, November 25th IND vs MIN

Jermaine O'Neal:
17 points (7/16) 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 0 steals, 2 turnovers, 6 blocks, 6 fouls

Kevin Garnett: 24 points (11/18) 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 0 steals, 2 turnovers, 4 blocks, 1 foul

December 20th IND vs MIN

Jermaine O'Neal:
16 points (6/18) 5 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers, 1 block, 4 fouls

Kevin Garnett: 28 points (11/18) 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, 1 turnover, 7 blocks, 2 fouls

Where was this ownage you speak of? I don't know if Indiana won all of those games or not, but you did say "Jermaine owns KG" not "Indiana owns Minnesota"...

Sun Aug 07, 2005 5:54 pm

By looking at those stats, KG definitely is a better player than Jermaine.
