speaking of Alonzo, he's an ASSHOLE. The only reason he joined the Heat was because they were championship contender not because he thought he owe something for the organization and the funs.

I don't see anything wrong with trying to win a championship when you're a 10+ year old veteran in the NBA, or any sport. By that logic, Malone and Payton are assholes, too.

When you're old and coming back from an almost career-ending "injury", I can understand him. He wanted to play for a contender, so he signed for New Jersey. Then he got traded to Toronto, who are not really close to contention. So, he asked to be released to go to another team that could get him a championship. Yes exactly. I understand why he wanted to leave the raps. Players have too much power these days. Coaches could get fired just cause one of the main guy didn't like him. But going back to the topic of JWill... well good luck to him. He might have lost his speed/quickness, but he still has his basketball IQ.

Barkley demanded a trade from both Philly and Pheonix. Ewing and Miller are just like Iverson: Warriors. Alonzo is the same. He could have made more money by going to Toronto. Instead he took less money to goto Miami.

So let me get this straight: Joe Johnson gets critisised for wanting to goto Atlanta, get more money and be an all star. But Alonzo gets critisised for accepting less money, a lesser role for a better chance to win a ring.

I'm fairly sure Jay or his agent contacted the Bulls about rejoining at least 6 months ago if not earlier, he has made the offers to play for the Bulls. I wouldn't be surprised if money was not a consideration, either.

But even if Jay played for league min, quite frankly i don't think he'd contribute much to the Bulls.

To add insult to injury, he just wasn't that good even before the accident, he'd be a reserve, he definitely wouldn't crack starting lineup on the Bulls squad.

Chris Duhon is actually putting up better numbers than Jay even before the accident. Duhon scores less, but everything else is better, in the exact same # of minutes. Slightly more assists, less TOs, better 3 point shooting, slightly better rebounding... puts up very similar assist #s to starting PGs like McInnis and Jason Williams.

#7 in assist per TO, #15 in assists per 48min.

Yes he was undrafed and Jay was drafted #2, but the ugly truth is Duhon is just as good as even a healthy Jay Williams.

jay wasn't so bad before the accident. he just didn't fit the system that a coach, who ended up getting fired anyway, ran. he did put up some good numbers towards the end of the 2002 season. but i guess this is all irrelevant now...

You have to remember the context of the teams. There was no Kirk Hinrich, Ben Gordon or Antonio Davis. Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler were no where near the players they are today. Chris Duhon is rubbish. If teams actually put a player on him, he'd be demolished.

Imagine Jay Williams and Kirk in the same backcourt now, with Gordon off the bench. . But theres no if's. However, dont be a Ben Bailey Jnr and think stats are the all and end all of determining how good a player is.

how do you know? he had seven surgeries to repair his hip, knee and ankle. he also had nerve damage as well

and he hasn't played against actual nba competition nor has he played in front of any scout from any team or media member

i don't see those teams having that big of a discrepancy in talent.

on the 02 team there was jalen rose, donyell marshall, trenton hassell, and a healthy jamal crawford. curry and chandler were still young but they were still serviceable in supporting roles. and blount and hoiberg were there to provide steady vet leadership

this team won a then post dynasty high 30 games... if you remember they finished that season very strong leading to many picking them to have a breakout season the following year
