What, Duncan on top of Malone? I thought Malone was the greatest PF ever to play the game. :?

Mon Jul 18, 2005 8:54 pm

Can't really say anything you guys haven't already said. Another strange, strange list.

Mon Jul 18, 2005 9:51 pm

EXTREMELY retarted list, Number 1 is usually okay with me but 2 onwards is all fucked up (already mentioned)

What about the Centers list  i'm guessing Diop will be number 8

Can't believe he didn't include Chris Mullin or Mitch Richmond or Ray Allen.

HELL F---IN' YEAH!!!

Dominique Wilkins over Bernard King? Kiss my black ass - twice! Ask Larry Bird about Bernard King. BK put the Knicks on his back and took Boston to seven games(in the '84 Eastern Conf. Finals). If King had a better supporting cast, who knows what might've happened?

In his prime, he was unstoppable, like George Gervin. Too bad his career was cut short by injuries. The biggest regret for Knick fans is he never played with Patrick.

You cats took the words out of my mouth. These lists are f-d up.

Who could forget that game 5 performance against the pistons in detroit. Crazy.

Tue Jul 19, 2005 4:54 pm

T-mac can play in all 4 positions except center i think.....and he should be in both the forwards and the guard list.atleast (Y)
now he can carry his name above the ladder if he could win soem playoff series ro soemthing near to it......like a championship hardware perhaps?

Thu Jul 21, 2005 7:21 pm

Noe for the Centers:

:? Another list bites the dust... Wilt at no 4? The Admiral not in the top 10?

"David Robinson — too soft and too clutchless to succeed without being carried by Tim Duncan."  this guy is a joke. (N)

The latest list, like most of the others, contains a "says it all about this guy's basketball knowledge" quote:

Aside from Kevin McHale, Shaq has more moves at his disposal in the pivot than anyone else in the record book.

Are you kidding me? The criticism of Shaq throughout his career has been the lack of moves he has in the post. While he expanded upon his arsenal during his tenure with the Lakers, he's never had the amount of moves as oh, say...Hakeem Olajuwon, perhaps?

Thu Jul 21, 2005 7:36 pm

I must agree with Andrew. Hakeem can do jump shot, fadeaway, hook shot, layup and much more than Shaq. Shaq only does dunk, layup and hook shot.

Thu Jul 21, 2005 7:54 pm

Does someone pay the guy to write this shit?

True, true. He really dissapointed me with this list. I always thought of Rosen as a Phil Jackson groupie and a man with great basketball knowledge, but this negated my beliefs.

Thu Jul 21, 2005 8:59 pm

Shaq has more dunks at his disposal in the pivot than anyone else in the record book.

That's what he probably meant to say...

Thu Jul 21, 2005 9:21 pm

I dont think so, considering he said "aside from McHale"... and McHale was no Shawn Kemp.

It's time for us to pay someone to kill this guy... :x

George Mikan? He's good, but I think if Brad Miller or Yao played at his era, they would have dominated.... :?

Indeed. hence the ( ) at the end of teh sentence...

George Mikan? He's good, but I think if Brad Miller or Yao played at his era, they would have dominated....

yes, but Goerge was the first dominant nig man ever, and set a precedent for the following eras. It's not about who would be better now, but a combination of that and his importance at the time of his peak.

Thu Jul 21, 2005 9:26 pm

Agreed Cloudy.

I think Patrick was overated, but to not even consider Ewing is disgraceful. It seems the only thing he is going on is clutch perfomances, but then thats a contradiction becuase he put Oscar at number 1 on his pg list.

He probably is just after some hate mail

Thu Jul 21, 2005 9:28 pm

but to not even consider Ewing is disgraceful.

True. Another omission, in my opinion. But DR is the greatest center left out of that list, again IMO. He should probably be a Top 7 at least.

Thu Jul 21, 2005 9:43 pm

Another fucked up list :shake: I would kill this guy

Honestly Wilt should be 2nd at least, then Kareem then Shaq then probably Mikan then i dont know much about the rest... probably Hakeem 6th then DR 7th then the rest can pan out themselves :?

Thu Jul 21, 2005 9:57 pm

Maga, the top 5 are very interchangable. You could put Shaq, Kareem, Russell or even Hakeem at number one and make a solid argument for top spot.

He does his list based on player's performance/dominance in player's times which is the right thing to do.

Agreed, but don't forget Wilt...

Fri Jul 22, 2005 3:26 am

they forgot to add John Starks...

 Good one  ever heard of that other one with the priest and the two bears?

Sat Jul 23, 2005 2:52 am

You think Chucky is done with his lists? Guess again...

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3758866

Toni only getting a honorable mention? Bobby Horry not even that? After Hondo and McHale, this list goes down the rain, as usual.

Rosen must be the biggest Auerbach homer in history...

Sat Jul 23, 2005 5:27 am

He's really the Architect from the Matrix.

Seriously though, Charley Rosen is kind of like Mr. Miyagi. What he says often seems strange and pointless (and sometimes is), but if you adjust to him, you can learn a lot about basketball by listening to what he has to say.

The Shaq comment didn't make any sense, but you can use his feedback form and he'll probably answer you in his next column.

He's probably right about David Robinson, though. He was like Wilt-lite...winning a bunch of individual accolades, but never really coming through in the clutch. Since Charley goes by the player's significance to his era, people like George Mikan do make more sense being on his list than the Admiral.
