A lot of teams are showing interest in Rahim, including my Timberwolves team. 8-) KG and Rahim are real close friends and word is KG is trying to talk him into coming to Minny with the MLE. That'd be sweet, last year the Wolves almost dealt Wally for Rahim but Portland backed out.

Didn't Shareef make it clear he only wants to play PF? He won't get to play there if he joins the Timberwolves unless Garnett moves to SF or C. But if he played C they would be too undersized and I don't know if SF is the best fit for KG.

I'm not too sure about Shareef joining the Wolves.

Shareef is a good fit in the Nets, take Jason Collins out and Shareef will be in the starting lineup as a PF. Hmm.... Who will take big shots in crunch time? Kidd :?: Carter :?: Jefferson :?: Rahim :?: Can they share the ball? I know Kidd and Jefferson can. Not sure about Carter and Rahim.

Shareef never said he wouldn't play SF, and KG can play C with Rahim at PF. Suns won with Amare at C and Marion at PF, the Wolves can play KG at C and Rahim at PF. Rahim is a great rebounder and post defender. When you play against bigger guys like Shaq you can mix the line-up up, of course.

okafor.. it's all about who runs the plays.. all you need is jkidd + finishers.. main reason why nj was so weak last year (although they were pretty ffs strong for a weak team especially with all the woes they went through) was that Kidd had no post option.. nenad was okay.. but collins was a gaping hole on offense.. not comfortable to take a shot unless he took it off the offensive glass.. i have complete faith in jkidd to be able to distribute nj + sheef past the eastern conference finals..

saying that kidd couldnt feed and run the plays for nj + sheef is like saying nash didn't just lead the suns to the western conference finals.. and imo kidd >>>>> nash

I don't think anyone of those players have an inflated ego whatsoever, I'm pretty sure all four of them could mesh well; especially with the high-octane offence that Kidd provides.

If Rahim did join the Nets, do you think Kidd can beat out Nash for assist leader?

Kidd actually plays defense, something Nash didn't learn in Canada or South America or where ever the hell he is from.

Canada. Does he look Brazilian to you?

if the Nets managed to the Rahim they would really really become a top team in the East Conference.

It'd be a very interesting race for the assists crown! I can't wait for next season! Even though Kidd gets a lot more rebounds than Nash, his efficiency rating is lower by 2 points in comparison to Nash but this could be attributed to the fact that Kidd was injured and wasn't a 100% for a good part of the season.

They won't have a problem with who is taking clutch shots. First of all, Kidd doesn't go out there to take clutch shots, secondly, how can people not know about how Shareef shies away from clutch shots. Remember, when he was in Vancouver they always relied on him, and after many times of not producing he got frustrated and started shying away from the ball down the stretch since then.

2 down, 2 to go. Carter is the better shooter, and Jefferson is the more willing penetrator, so with them, either way is fine, Carter is the better option cause he's more versatile, but Jefferson is right there too. Their'll be no problem with clutch shots.

About Kidd and the assist crown, it's possible, but the Nets would have to run a much faster paced offense. You have to realize that all those years where Kidd was averaging 10.9 assists or whatever, the Nets weren't even a high scoring team, just a good fastbreak team. Nash's team is scoring 110 PPG, so it's a lot easier for him to get the high assist numbers.

I hope the Spurs get Reef. That would be so kick ass.

That would ruin the Spurs chances at a ring for like... ever.

i dont think it would... the spurs usually take in players and use their talents for the better. but i think that the nets have the best chance right now of getting him.

Spurs already got all the pieces they need to be a champion. It is not necessary to add Rahim to the current Spurs rosters.

that's just dumb to say the spurs should stand pat.

if rahim is willing to take the MLE, the spurs have a great chance at landing him

though his agent recently said he won't take the MLE to play for NJN...

some interesting poll choices, EG lol... worse but still the best?

The old Nets team was the Best in the East at the time. So a person might think that the East is weaker than it was, so the new Nets could be worse than the old ones but still the best in the (current East.)

I hope that makes sense.

he said he'd rather come accross in a sign and trade.. all indications are that portland will take the trade exception (probably with some sweetening required), and then the nets will be free to use the MLE on keyon dooling..
