Cleveland needs to majorly overhaul & revamp their perimeter game. The only reason they're in playoff contention is because of LeBron, without him they would be competitive with Atlanta. Cleveland needs to focus less on LeBron and worry about just becoming a decent team for LeBron to lead.
3P%: #28 out of 30 @ .330 (only NO and ATL are worse)
Opponent's 3P%: #29 out of 30 @ .379 (only ATL is worse)

I wouldn't even call them competitive.

Well nets and cav won their respective games tonight. Nets is playing Boston (a winning team), and Clev is playing toronto (a mediocre team) so hopefully nets lose and cav wins *crossing figners*

woulda been so much better if they faced each other in a season finale. guess we will see what happens

At the very least, they'll each finish with a .500 record. It's been a while since the East has boasted .500 teams past the top eight.

It has gone through the wire now. If the Nets win tomorrow, even if the Cavs win, they will clinch. But if the Cavs win and the Nets won't the Cavs are in. I've added a poll to see which team you think will get the 8th spot tomorrow.
Tomorrow's game:
NJN@BOS
CLE@TOR

Will Boston and Toronto back down??
who knows..
It's gonna be exciting.. !!
I say.. both lost..
and NJN thru..

I'd say cleveland coz the nba needs to market lebron in d playoffs.

I would personaly like to see some K-C-K magic in playoffs.
Thu Apr 21, 2005 5:10 am
This is it, if New Jersey wins, it's over for the Cavs. I really don't see the Cavs making the playoffs anymore, even though I predicted weeks back that they would still make it. I didn't expect that big slide, though.

LeBron is up by 10 right now, and he's on the verge of a triple double in the first half. 13 pts 7 rebs 9 asts, and not even half time!
In the meanwhile, Jersey is down by 11 with about 3 minutes to go in the half.
Thu Apr 21, 2005 10:20 am
i voted cavs , hopefully im right
Thu Apr 21, 2005 10:59 am
91-68 cavs over rapts after 3...think its safe to say they won
HOWEVER
boston got outscored 32-8 in 3rd and now down 13 after 3..

Cavs won, LeBron had 27 14 and 14, but NJ just beat the Celtics by 9. Bye Bye Bron. Oh well, I dont think Cleveland stood a chance against Miami in the first round.

I hope LeBron doesn't give up on the Cavaliers just yet. Their collapse was disappointing and they have only themselves to blame (the individual who shoulders most of it is another subject altogether), but this isn't a bad team. I don't think the slide would have continued if Paul Silas was still around. Unfortunately, he became the scapegoat and while I'm sure Brendan Malone did his best, a late season coaching team on an (at the time) playoff bound team didn't work out as well for the Cavaliers as it did for the Mavericks.

I agree 100% Andrew. I really hope that he tries to form a legacy in Cleveland and tries to overcome the humps and barriers that he is going to face. Going to L.A or New York would be a bad move for Lebron. He has to remember he is only 20 years old. He has a chance to spend 15-20 more years in the league, he will get his rings. I think he needs to do the same thing jordan did, dont leave, dont bandwagon jump. Stay with Cleveland, and work with the organization to bring in some talent to surround LBJ.
Thu Apr 21, 2005 3:19 pm
i wholeheartedly agree with the both of you....Lebron must learn what every champions before him have learned.......that is be patient......
Thu Apr 21, 2005 5:00 pm
before his 1st retirement, MJ never missed the playoff! did he?
Thu Apr 21, 2005 5:02 pm
nope.....i think he never did.....he was a playoff player all his career
Thu Apr 21, 2005 5:17 pm
Only two times he's missed the playoffs were his two years in Washington. But I don't think LeBron alone should be blamed for the collapse.
Thu Apr 21, 2005 5:18 pm
damn thats why he's the focking best... MJ forever !!!!
By the way I checked the boxscore from Nets-Boston game and I noticed their starters didn't play a lot of minutes except Pierce and Payton was injured. Who started the game for the Celtics in the 3rd Quarter? damn to get 8 points it makes me believe the reserve guy started the 2nd half.
Thu Apr 21, 2005 6:08 pm
So the conclusion for Cavs is.. Win and Go Home..
Thu Apr 21, 2005 9:42 pm
Haha, finally I won't see this piece of shit (LBJ) anymore this season.
Thu Apr 21, 2005 10:44 pm
hey Andrew, did Bulls make the playoffs that year he was injured?!? was it 1985?!? it was his 2nd season and he was out for most of the season....I just can't remember if they made it to the playoffs though....
Thu Apr 21, 2005 11:48 pm
Yep, they made it in his sophomore season (1986) when he was out most of the year. That was the year he exploded for 63 against the Celtics in Game 2 of their opening round series.
