Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:14 am

Anyone have a link that confirms the Baron trade? I havent seen anything yet...

BTW: Danny Ainge is an idiot.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:16 am

Websites.

And dsigns, check any NBA website for the link. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1998925

www.rotoworld.com
www.thescore.ca
www.espn.com
www.hoopshype.com
www.realgm.com
www.sportsnet.ca
www.tsn.ca

some get word of deals before others, but usually ESPN and The Score's ticker are the first, but Rotoworld announced the Baron deal first.

Ladies and gentleman, may I present to you the dumbest general manager in the NBA.

Danny Aingle (Y)

Hey, you're kinda late on that one. :P

I can't imagine Payton reporting to the Hawks.. He's going to play with little kids.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:27 am

Or he'll boost his stats to make some $ with a god team next year.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:29 am

Or he'll retire, lol.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:30 am

Yea, I think Payton will report. When he went to Boston it was pretty much the same thing. Sucks for Dale Davis & Payton tho. Both wanted to be traded to a contender, both got traded to the worst teams in the NBA. LOL

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:32 am

or he'll die.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:33 am

Dallas teades Calvin Booth and Alan Henderson to Milwaukee for Keith Van Horn.

Great trade for Dallas IMO.

Lakers made no deals? That blows, although Welsch for a pick is a good deal for Cleveland too... very very active this year... the trades that is, not Jiri Welsch.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:34 am

Danny Ainge is so retarded! He trades Walker, Walker bad mouths him, and next thing you know, the guy's coming back to Boston? wtf... Ainge is a retard. What a waste of time.

hopefully he wont give the mj-pervis ellison treatment to the josh's..

lets hope his stats'll boom up and josh smith and josh childress turn into a great SF-SG combo with gary payton in double digit assists.

Once is enough. Think about it. The Celtics were first in the division. The Hawks, well, they're the Hawks.

The Celts banished GP who was a model citizen the whole year. Yeah, I sound like a homer, but GP has every right not to report.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:52 am

Hey, you know what, we just might make the playoffs.....

....next year...

Fri Feb 25, 2005 7:55 am

So basically, Danny Ainge traded Tony Delk, Gary Payton, Tom Gugliotta and Michael Stewart for Raef LaFrentz, Jiri Welsch, Chris Mills and Delonte West (the Mavericks first round selection in the 2004 Draft).

Indeed, Ainge traded nothing for nothing :s

He gave away a decent player (Delk), an aged leader (Payton) in order to load off a big contract (Stewart), an already retired player (Mills), oh and at last a prospect (West) and a center that never lived up to the expectation. The last player, Welsch, had been wiped off for nothing.

All the more as he's getting a reputation of unloyal player by trading respected players (Gugliotta and Payton) who gave him their confidence.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 8:02 am

No one has a right not to report, all in all it's a business, if you don't report, you don't get paid, I bet Atlanta is hoping he doesn't report so they don't have to pay him. I love this trade for Atlanta, why?

Well new starting lineup:

PG: Lue or Payton
SG: Josh Childress
SF: Josh Smith
PF: Al Harrington
C: Jason Collier

Fantasy numbers is what it's all about

Fri Feb 25, 2005 8:10 am

Stop fooling yourself in thinking that Payton will play a game for the Hawks. Really, look at it from a moral perspective. GP was fucked by the Lakers over the summer, came to Boston -- at the time a borderline playoff team, and became not only their leader but the glue to the offense. He just got screwed by Ainge.

He will not report. Quote me on it. It's the Atlanta Hawks...

Fri Feb 25, 2005 8:13 am

I doubt he will come out and say, 'I won't report,' he'll just retire if he doesn't want to play after this season. But he should at least finish the season, It might be harder to make a Hall of Fame case for him if he walks out on his last team.

Fri Feb 25, 2005 8:16 am

Hm, perhaps Indy could pick him up :)

Fri Feb 25, 2005 8:17 am

That last sentence is laughable. It's Gary Payton. First ballot.

Please you guys, there's already rumors that the Hawks will waive him or buy him out. Payton will be a free man sometime soon.
