He knew. The commentators said they practiced it last night or something.

Josh did jump over him, but his knee nearly knocked out his front teeth. Good thing he moved it up in time.

he is creative but he just don't have the hang time. If Josh Smith had that kick up he woulda done something really nice.

we must give props to EA Sports for making up some dunks and players are trying some of the moves. Looking foward to live 2006

nope he had been practicing it with K-Mart....he said so when they interviewed him.

lol another reason why nash should be considered league MVP.. he helped amare get a 50 on a generic 180 one handed flush

I think 'Nique was about to cry on that Josh Smith windmill. He was so happy/sad/surprised he didn't know what to do.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 2:18 pm

if i was Stoudemire i would have broke out a Jordan jersey and done a free-thow line dunk
but then again i'm not so... yeah

and if a Jordan jersey wasnt available i would have gotten a white t-shirt then taken a Sharpie marker, and written "JORDAN" and "23" on the back and then wroten "BULLS" and "23" on the front lol:lol:

yeah that look on his face was so amazing.

my dad said josh smith only took off his jersey to show off his body...

come on pops...

What's all this off nash's head I hear? Did it hit the glass then bounce off his head or something or did he take nash's head and dunk it through the rim or what?? :?:

amare threw it off the backboard and nash headed it like a soccer player, amare grabbed it and threw it down. it was because of that dunk he advanced to the finals.

Amare threw it off the glass, it hit Nash's head, then Amare caught it and dunked it.

The Nique tribute was beautiful. The Dunk Contest is back.

I told u ppl it'll be a way better contest than the days of J-Rich.....

well Amare should have carried Nash and thrown him through the hoop...now that would truly be a unique dunk. :)

LOL! When Josh Smith threw it down over K-Mart. I automatically ran around the house.

I was running around screaming "OOOH! OOOH! OOOH!"

Then when Amare did the Off The Glass to Off The Head 180 One Hnader, I ran around. It was so ridiculous I almost cried.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 3:06 pm

i couldnt believe it either...

and josh smith is only a year older then me    i can get up there pretty good for a white guy, but....

and by the way, i definitley could have done better then chris andersen tonight.

Man, Chris Anderson was so embarassing. The first dunk was actually impressive when he finally got it since he jumped nearly from the free throw line. The second dunk he did was so sad that I was just laughing. Everything he did that was shown in the replays was just so awkward and off balance. I feel sorry for him.

Anybody notice that no matter how many times you dunk and hit the rim, you can keep on re-trying and re-trying until you finally get it in? What do you think of that new rule?

And the judges, were they being fair? Was it annoying that they only gave 45's and 50's?

There was nothing creative about Josh Smith. These dunks were already done before. The ones with Amare were never done before. And that first dunk by J.R. was never done before either.

yeah.....true but what Josh did was way more creative than J-Rich and his non-stop 360's and windmill dunks :lame:

JR got robbed so bad......stupid Dr.J and the crew....they suck as judges (n)

Sun Feb 20, 2005 3:23 pm

J-Rich wasn't even in the contest :P ;)

But yeah, the judges were terrible.

Im not stupid(even If I were Blind I'll know J-Rich wasnt in the contest).....:lame:

Im saying...what J-Rich did was stuff well....the 360's are quite common.....but even if Josh did copy stuff......he copied them pretty darn well if u ask me.

The last two from Smith weren't necessarily creative, but giving the viewers something never seen is overrated. The only times I've been able to see Dominique and Michael Jordan show off is from my Ultimate Jordan DVD, but I was actually able to see Josh Smith do these. So what if he was somewhat emulating history. The degree of difficulty was ridiculous.

I would have liked to see the other Smith in the finals instead of Amare. I was just waiting to see a behind-the-back dunk outside of NBA Live, and he finally showed it. Stoudamire's first was overrated, and really didn't deserve the same score as the two Smith's first.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 3:37 pm

how can you argue josh smith didnt win the contest?

amare didnt even really do anything in the last 2 dunks, steve nash was the one getting all the credit.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 3:48 pm

The key thing is that Josh Smith made the dunk on his first try for every single dunk that's why he's so great.
