it was probably a "let him score all he wants, we will shut down these 4" kinda thing. teams have done this before to some of the better players in the league. let thier main man score at will and just totaly shut down the rest.

And it's proven to be successful over the years. Let him score his 35 points, but make things miserable for his teammates, force him to try to do it alone. The classic "five man answer for one great player" strategy.
