my starting dallas lineup

C bradley
PF dampier
SF nowitzki
SG finley
PG terry

C podkolzin/booth
PF henderson/williams
SF josh howard/abdul wahad
SG stackhouse/daniels
PG best/harris

I don't think Dampier will or can play PF. I doubt Daniels will be behind Stack also, Nellie is in love with Daniels.

Dampier/Booth/Bradley/Pavel*IR
Dirk/Henderson/Booth/Ilunga-Mbenga*IR
Finley/Howard/TAW
Daniels/Stack
Terry/Harris/Dickau (cut him or Evan)*IR

i wil agree that haveing them 2 is better than haveing nash but, if they resigned nash they could have used the players they traded to get terry in another trade for a dif center who might be better/cheaper. cant think off the top of my head a team who was shopping thier center(dont say shaq) but i am sure the mavs could have found someone. this board seems to talk alot of the chance of curry being traded. what if thyey could have lured him away. i myself would rather curry and nash over damp and terry. then again its all just a bunch of what ifs now.

yeah, you are right, i would've preferred if they had retained nash and dealt for another centre. But I think if i were aboslutely forced to choose between nash and dampier considering dallas's obvious needs I'd be sorely tempted to go with dampier for the reasons already mentioned. I don't think curry is really what dallas needs unless he can learn how to play defense, more scoring really wasnt a priority. Of all the big men available, only shaq and dampier would actually have a chance filling dallas's apparent big man hole. If dallas were building for the future, curry would obviously be the better choice though

dampier with the dallas mavericks is a great fit for them because now they have a big man who can score inside the paint and defend.

yell at me again for yet another name slipped my mind, but thier back up pg of last year played really well so they probably thought they could let nash go and not take a big hit. now they got terry too so i think they will be ok, though terry will never be the playmaker nash is. terry is gonna have to learn that what he did in atlanta wont fly in dallas. this is not his team and he is down the list of go-to guys.

actually this might make him a better player. not always haveing to think about scoreing a ton to win maybe he can learn to pick and choose he shots now and be more productive. then again maybe his ego will get in the way and he messes everything up. will have to wait and see.
