This is for Jackal: For how much I dislike Bryant, I'll give that he's the best 2 guard in the NBA right now, not McGrady.

When McGrady starts fulfilling his potencial, as a defensive presence, and getting the right mindset - winner attitude, mental toughness, will to outplay everybody everyday, score when it matters - he'll be right there with Kobe, because for all Kobe's goddam faults he sure has a competitive drive that sets him apart from McGrady.

Now on the topic:

Miami is 1 Shaq's injury away from the lottery. Does it make a contender out of them?

The pacers still have no Center, and it's to be seen wether or not Jermaine O'Neal will start shooting like a PF.

New Jersey ... well ... thei're finished. They will learn the hard way that a player's value is not only measured statistic wise.

That leaves Detroit alone as the only real contender.

So: West rules...

*sigh* I said statistically McGrady is better than Bryant, meaning who performed best in the given minutes.

Watch:

Production is scaled to per-36-minutes, then adjusted for team scoring/rebounding rates. The scoring column is further scaled to effective shooting %.

The T Rate column is a weighted sum of the other stats. Then team defensive credit is given, relative to minutes played.

Best of 03-04

Well, at least we can rule out one thing- they are tied  ; IMO the West still has the edge= more power players (PF's); I've always thought of the east as the conference with more guards; oh yeah, and that guy named Kobe is on the west...

Westside is the best.
Yeah, since O neal went to the Miami, east is stronger, but west remains on the top.
And throwbackeckotl Timmy is not boring,he is a great player.
He doesn't do anything really fancy, but gets the job done. He has a total understanding of the game and knows how to apply it.
