Re: 2018 NBA Finals: Warriors vs. Cavs part 4

LeBron to Philly. Process Complete.

Here's the thing about that, though. A lot of people seem to have him pegged to leave, but I'm not so sure. He originally left because those old Cavs teams had reached a dead end, and taking his talents to South Beach allowed him to finally win championships. The window started to close quickly on the Heat, and with a couple of titles to his name the pressure was off anyway, so he could return home and still remain competitive. I don't know that he has much inventive to move on at this point. He's in a pretty good situation, with a strong legacy.

Of course, I've been wrong both times before. I thought he was staying in Cleveland in 2010 and Miami in 2014, so by picking him to stay, he's probably moving on again. This time though, I reckon he'd be pretty comfortable staying where he is.

They are laughing at JR right now in the Warriors post game conference.

Smith's story has changed a couple of times now. Either way, it was a blunder.

The Warriors are like the pool hall hustlers where they keep you in the game and let you think you have a chance before whooping you and taking your money.

Well, that was a curious game.

My opinion is that the officiating at the end of the 4th was questionable.

It's funny how much I dislike GSW that it makes me cheer for LeBron, although he is our enemy and I want my Cs to destroy him.

Green is the greatest scumbag to ever set a foot in an NBA floor. I get all the trashtalking and sh*t, but was that taunting against Thompson necessary when you had already won the game?
That is straight disrispectful, both for the players and the game of basketball.

I'm not quite sure that's how numbers work...

Cavs win this year, next year marks the 5th year of these two teams going at it for the "best of 5"
Ah, gotcha. Completely misinterpreted it the first time around.

JR Smith gives more credence that LeBron James is playing with bums.

It's a big part of his game and personality, but I think it's something he needs to control, and should've learned to do so by now. Cooler heads must prevail, as losing control like that is going to result in suspensions at inopportune times. Indeed, we've seen it happen with him already. You can be fiery and passionate, but also know how to get a grip and keep your head. Be like Dennis Rodman, and walk away clapping. You make your point without escalating the situation and risking suspension. Just remember not to kick any camera operators.

fuck the refs and fuck draymond

someone should have called a timeout as soon as jr got that offensive rebound, not entirely his fault

Re: 2018 NBA Finals: Warriors vs. Cavs part 4

The sole reasons that JR Smith changed so much teams were his inconsistency and low BBIQ.

This playoffs proved that once again.

So this big mistake wasn't shocking for me. JR being JR.

Lue is also to blame for that last play though.
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2366 ... g-take-out
Lue would have been eligible to call a timeout from the bench as soon as Smith grabbed the rebound, however it should be noted that the Cavs were playing offense on the opposite end of the court from where Lue was positioned.
:facepalm2:

Re: 2018 NBA Finals: Warriors vs. Cavs part 4

To be fair he probably thought they were ahead so he did what he should have done if they were ahead lol. Also at that moment you don't really know how many timeouts you have and don't wanna pull a Chris Webber

Re: 2018 NBA Finals: Warriors vs. Cavs part 4

Sat Jun 02, 2018 1:35 am

I mean Lue should have instantly called a timeout after the rebound. I suppose that is what you normally do in those scenarios when you have 4 seconds left in the clock. So, maybe he was on the other side of the court but if he was ready to call a timeout in case of an offensive rebound he would have called it.

Re: 2018 NBA Finals: Warriors vs. Cavs part 4

Sat Jun 02, 2018 1:39 am

I'll give Lue a pass since Kerr did the same thing in the WCF in not calling a timeout in the final play.

Re: 2018 NBA Finals: Warriors vs. Cavs part 4

Sat Jun 02, 2018 1:45 am

But then there's also the argument that you could get a better shot with no timeout because the defense doesn't get a chance to set up.

Re: 2018 NBA Finals: Warriors vs. Cavs part 4

Sat Jun 02, 2018 2:00 am

That's the exact reasoning by Kerr then for not calling a timeout so I wouldn't blame Lue.

It's all on JR.
HE HAD THE FUCKING BALL, if he was waiting for a timeout from Lue JR could have called it himself because HE HAD THE FUCKING BALL.

Sat Jun 02, 2018 2:09 am

Regression to the means for cavs 3pt shooting? including a lot open looks created by James but still missed

Yet I think the cavs played well enough to win

Great to see the bad blood flowing already in game 1

Re: 2018 NBA Finals: Warriors vs. Cavs part 4

Sat Jun 02, 2018 2:14 am

But hoping JR runs a winning play in a Finals game is like expecting LiAngelo Ball to make an NBA roster.

Lol hill should have just hit the FT. Instead we're here discussing a possible better shot that never happened... Which could have been missed anyway

Kinda funny how not one single person would talk about LeBawn's 51 pts effort on excellent efficiency. If this was Westy, Jordan, or Kobe, we'd be hearing earful until next game how gawd awful their teammates are, for screwing up badly and practically giving away the win.

I honestly lost a count on how many great games LBJ had in this year's playoffs. This is a shocker especially as I truly believe his decline has begun a few years back.

That shows you how great he is. The fact that these performances are the norm and expected of him. No one would stop talking about it if Jeff Green had the same stats. Hell, he had like 19 points in a good game vs Boston and was the talk of the town.

Yeah it's all on JR for sure. At the end of the day he didn't know the score so that's why he did what he did

You can always count on JR to make a bonehead play, but Hill deserves some heat too. You HAVE to nail both free throws. Cavs had their chance and blew it. I can't see them recovering from this.

The trainwreck that is J.R. Smith.....smh.
