I pray to the basketball gods every night before I go to bed that the Raptors will do a sign and trade for Mike James to obtain a decent centre...

They also have a big, huge mascot, the one on stilts or w/e its called. I was at teh Indiana game and the Raptor mascot (big one) was like trying to hump people in the front row, lol.

And back on to the subject.... I really hope we don't sign Mike James next season and as much as I like Mo, I realyl hope he steps his game up.

Mo stepped his game up against Phoenix, he was on fire. I'm not sure about James, but I know we need a true point guard and he's not it.

As for the mascot; I don't know about a huge one, but they have a normal one, and he put on pogo-stick legs and jumped over someone. I was laughing so hard, the guy never saw it coming, and then the Raptor wiped out and fell on the crowd.

Or just worship basketball satan, requesting him that Isiah make the Raps better, as what Zeke did with the Bulls.

Calderon should be the point guard we're supposed to be developing, but Sam Mitchell is too big of an idiot to realize how important he is to our future.

A lot of people also forget about Roko Ukic over in Europe. It'll be a while before he comes over to North America, but he's someone to watch out for if he continues to grow in Europe.

I also wouldn't mind if the Raptors drafted a multi-talented guy like Ronnie Brewer, who can play some spot duty at the 1.

yeah wasnt ukic compared to the likes of manu ginobili? i thought the celts were gonna take him with pick 18. ronnie brewer would fit in nicely with the raps imo.

Ukic is compared to Ginobili, but I think that's only because he's 6'5. He's more of a playmaker than Manu Ginobili although I think he's still a combo guard.

do u guyz think chris bosh is returning from his injury i think the raps should give him the rest of the season off i mean there is only 10 or 9 games left there is no point of him coming back he should just rest up.

DEAR GOD, Mike James was being a friggin idiot. I don't think he noticed when he was feeding people the ball when they had that huge run in the 4th that he was doing well. In OT all he did was put up bricks. God I wanna break his arms, and does anyone know why Calderon didn't play. Barret got more PT and he was playing like crap.

On a more positive note, i love Mo Pete in a Brokeback way. Charlie also had a monster game and Graham was a beast.

wow, this thread made it to the second page...

well, we beat Detroit...its bench atleast. Detroit was basically just playing with us. Sheed took a left handed three, and they played their bench for a lot of minutes including crunch time. We'll take it i guess.

I missed most of this game, I started watching near end of 3rd q becuase I forgot about this game. When waching, it didn't really seem like the Pistons cared about this game and that Saunders actualyl cared about gettign a win...seemed like he just wanted Toronto to get another win because it doesn't really matter.

Saunders was concerned priming up the bench for the playoffs and rest his starters which have been the same for the whole season.

Well, a win is a win, and even if it help kills the chances of us grabbing a higher pick in the draft I still would like to see the Raptors win... I think I've grown white hair watching some of the games they played during the 10 game losing streak.

James is like Marbury v2

James Doesn't Want To Get Locked Up Long-Term
16th April, 2006 - 3:54 am
Toronto Star - Mike James has a new strategy as he approaches free agency.

"If I sign for less years I'll probably ask for more money," James said after Raptor practice yesterday. "That's probably the way I'll go for the remainder of my career: Sign three-year deals with a player option on my third for the simple fact that I don't want to lock myself into nothing long-term.

"I believe I'm always going to get better and I don't want to lock myself into a deal that I outplay maybe a year or two from now."

Problem is he's already 30 (or 29?). I'd take a long term deal if i was him.
