well, considering in 3 years, (ad if he stays in the East), there aren't many up-and-coming centers in the east... you got Shaq, Ilgauskas, and Ben Wallace, all who I don't see as all-stars in 3 years.

10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block in 18 minutes, but 4 for 9 shooting, which is poor for his standards.

Darko's whinging again, this time it's about having to work hard for a chance in Detroit. It's a bit of a fluff piece though, good to see he managed to throw in the obligatory crying amongst the compliments on his current form:

Never has a player been happier to leave a 60-win juggernaut for one with little hope of making the playoffs as Milicic was when he was traded from Detroit to Orlando on Feb. 14. To Milicic
"For these three years they killed almost everything in me," Milicic said, referring to the Pistons. "I never got a chance to play. I'd work every morning knowing that I wouldn't get a chance to play at night. That was a killer."

I'd definitely love a job that lets me gain global recognition as a yearly contender and getting paid handsomely to do nothing but sit my ass on a bench.
Then again, I don't have the passion for basketball like most professionals do. Nor the ego.

its asdf, i want to have sex with you just because of your sig
even though the guy comes off as a whiny little bitch at times, and he is, at least you know that he cares. he wants to play and he wants to get better. he's not satisfied with riding the pine and collecting his paycheque, and like him or not you gotta respect that. i'd rather have him than some dude like keon clark, who disappeared out of thin air.

It also shows that he cares more about individual recognition than winning.

good to see darko help get a win over his former team...if you look at the magic record since darko and carlos joined, its pretty safe to say darko knows a thing or two about winning

Bitch, please. You're 20 years old and you'd rather play nothing at all and get 10 rings or actually play and try to win it one by yourself (and earn a lot of money inbetween)? That's not being selfish, that's being competive. You put Jordan, Pippen, Bryant or any other great into Darko's position and I'll bet you that they'll whine like crazy.

But is it really winning when you dont even play? I would much rather be on a team and play and win 30-50% of games than sit on the bench, and never play for a team that wins alot.

You moron, Jordan, Pippen and Bryant are great players. Darko's some Euro trash who blocks a few shots. There's a difference. What if Adonal Foyle came out whinging about playing time? Why do you even obsess over Darko? You're not from the same country, from what I know he doesn't have half naked pictures of himself floating around on the internet... what's up.

I'm just being a fan of a underdog. It's just pure fun. And was talking about Jordan, Pippen, Bryant and others before they actually got big, at the start of their careers. Same as Darko, they wouldn't even get an opportunity to play. I think that Darko should shut up now, after he got what he wanted and showed some class with paying respect to the magnificent team that are Pistons, but on the other hand, I can understand where is he coming from. And the whole thing definitely isn't about 'winning'.
Sat Apr 08, 2006 4:44 pm
I agree that he should shut up, he is in a great situation... admittedly he should be starting, but that will come.

4 points and 1 rebound in 12 minutes, but the Magic still got the win over Heat. I guess a sheer presence od the mighty Darko was enough.

yeh... that must be it

Hey, the Darko Magic did beat you, you know. 'Sheed and Big Ben were so terrified that they didn't even want to return to the court. Darko for MVP!

Hmm good point
Tue Apr 11, 2006 10:55 am
Sheed was injured and Ben was pissed off. Darko should be thankful that Ben didn't return.
The more I see Darko play the more I think he's going to be a bust.
I wonder why.
Tue Apr 11, 2006 11:03 am
I don't see Darko being a completely worthless player, but looking at the other players in the '03 draft that were picked after him, he certainly shouldn't have been taken 2nd overall.
So yes, I think he'll be a bust, but a solid role player nonetheless.
Tue Apr 11, 2006 11:46 pm
A 20 year old guy who hasn't played for two years and a half, becomes one of the premiere defensive players at his position and contributes on the other side of the court as well, and he's already a bust? He's already super-skilled and you guys are talking like he can't improve anymore.
13 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist in 22 minutes against Atlanta.
Wed Apr 12, 2006 2:03 am
Orlando's won 9 of 10. 14-11 with Darko.
Wed Apr 12, 2006 2:35 am
I wouldn't be surprised to see Darko be as effective as Bosh. Just watching him play, he has great instincts. How often do you see a 7ft player take the ball up the length of the court, fake a drive to the basket, and then dish on the dribble to another player (Howard) for an open dunk? The only player I can think of like that is Dirk, and I think they have similar skill sets. Darko doesn't quite have the range Dirk has, but I think his defense is better.
Seeing how Darko does is the only reason I watch the Magic.

Before he was drafted the scouting reports said the same thing and that he may even be better than Dirk.

His defense is the result of him being on Detroit, the same team that benched him.
Wed Apr 12, 2006 12:28 pm
axel: well Toni Kukoc could. But i guess he doesnt count because hes 6'11. I take your point though. Darko doesnt have the ball handling and passing ability of a young Kukoc yet, but the great thing about darko is he can be a defensive force too. Plus i reckon his inside game will get alot better so he'll have a reliable post game to go along with his face up/outside arsenal.
Fri Apr 14, 2006 12:51 pm
14pts 5/9...7 boards...3 blocks ...only 1 TO and 2 fouls
Not to mention a win over the Spuirs
Fri Apr 14, 2006 12:59 pm
darko is better than duncan ftw
