Sounds like a better effort on their part to get the Bullets back.

Meanwhile, if Tinkler was the best hope of bringing the league back to Newcastle, I'd say that's fallen through for the foreseeable future with all the problems he's facing at the moment.

Sunday's Channel Ten game has been bumped onto One, for the MotoGP. Certainly preferable to delaying it, and apparently MotoGP is on the anti-siphoning list and thus needs to be on the primary channel, so Ten didn't even have a say in the matter. Though if that's true, someone needs to update the anti-siphoning regs.

As a result of the above, Adelaide v Wollongong becomes the first NBL game in two years to be televised live nationally (game three of the grand final last season was live in WA and delayed elsewhere).

All-Star voting now open

Much better system than in years past, where you simply voted for one player of any position, resulting in really awkward teams. It now follows the NBA's G/G/F/F/C model.

NBA just changed the All-Star voting rules to implement a frontcourt/backcourt system. ;)

Melbourne Tigers sack Kevin Braswell, sign Jonny Flynn.

Two NBA-quality guards in two years. Makes you wonder why the rest of the team is so shit.

Checked out Perth Arena yesterday. It looks absolutely amazing; the photos don't do it justice.

Is the Tigers game going to be replayed at all on FTA? I've managed to catch a couple of their games already this season, so I'm hoping it will be at some point this weekend. I'm hoping Flynnsanity is a success. It'd be cool to see other players in the NBA who haven't panned out coming to the NBL to play. Someone else who could do well in the NBL who's fading in the NBA is Terrence Williams.

And as well as the X, I'm a big advocate of Morrison coming to Australia :P

No. There's on the two games a week on FTA, this week it's Wollongong-Sydney and Adelaide-Perth. Next Sunday is your first chance to catch Flynn without either going to Melbourne or getting an NBL.TV subscription, 2PM on Ten against Sydney. The Friday matchup next week is Perth vs Adelaide, in the opening of Perth Arena and live in NSW and Victoria on ONE HD. Has the potential to be a pretty high-rating weekend.

Watching the game live on NBL TV. Tigers look better than they did earlier in the season. Goulding has been good, which is always a plus. As for Jonny Flynn, he provides a lot more speed in their gameplay & is getting their other guys open shots. 36ers' D just isn't being allowed to get set. Flynn has been good on defensive boards & getting to loose balls. As expected, Flynn's biggest weakness is still his jump shot. Combined with his lack of height, he really needed to get a more consistent outside jump shot to stick in NBA. If he works hard on his jump shot & becomes a consistent threat from outside, he could make it back into the league.

In other news, Townsville's CEO has resigned, and the club is apparently on the verge of collapse.

This is the scoreboard the Wildcats had at Challenge Stadium, as well as at the Entertainment Centre:

This is the one they debuted at Perth Arena at the start of this season:

Much complaining was done about the disappearance of individual player stats, so I spent 20 minutes in Photoshop, threw this together, and sent it to the Wildcats:

The Perth Wildcats' scoreboard as of this afternoon:

Tickets to games cost hundreds of dollars; they pretty clearly have no spare money floating around. And it's not as though I'd expect to be paid for volunteering something they didn't ask for.

Fair enough. Well, once again it's pretty cool they went ahead and used it, I guess that alone is a good reward.
