this is not the Detroit team of old....looks like we'll need a repeat of last year just to scrape through only to get eaten up by SAS.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 3:22 pm

very strange, but detroit looks scared.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 3:29 pm

Lebron literally carried cleveland on his broad shoulders in the 4th qtr and overtime periods and the best thing is he is only 22. I just hope GM Danny Ferry wouldn't suck in surrounding him with quality players in the near future because with the team they have now, they will definitely never win a championship unless lebron goes for 50pts 10reb and 10ast every night. Especially against an organized spurs team that is primed to win the championship this year.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 4:22 pm

Unless LeBron averages 60 on 50% shooting and every other Cav contributes .

Fri Jun 01, 2007 6:14 pm

What a game!!!!

Hopefully this will end the "Lebron James isn't clutch"-debate. Did anyone notice that Lebron James has had ALL the appearences in the last 2 NBA TV's top 5 plays?

I really hope to see the Cavs in the finals - I don't think they can win, but neither can Detroit, and the cavs (read: Lebron) is much mnore fun to watch.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 7:32 pm

the only problem i have with the Cavs is seeing varejao flopping all over the floor and goodens ridiculous hair cut.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 7:38 pm

If Cavs continue to play like they did in this series,
there is no need for a Game 7.

And if Cavs can really beat Piston,
All the ball fans should be cheer up because Cavs might be able to beat Spurs too while this year's Piston is not even close to they used to be in 05 and Spurs is even better.

Yes, Cavs have better chance than Pistons NOW!
At least I believe they will win 1 or 2 in Q.

Why not? Impossible is Nothing.
We all love surprise.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 7:46 pm

NOOOOOOOOOO! my beloved Pistons r down 3-2 when i saw it on my comp (at skewl) i fealt like punching my m8 beside me, i am very angry why can't the Pistons stop LeBron if he scores less then 20 we will win for sure they havn't had a Superb performance from anyone but him i h8 1 player teams look at the Pistons all 5 players contriuibute or atleast they can contribute if the cavs go into the final they will probably get swept

Fri Jun 01, 2007 8:05 pm

Awesome game no doubt, but the series is far from over. I expect the cavs to close out at home though. I agree if they closeout the Pistons, they have a shot at beating the Spurs. If Lebron rolls into the finals on fire, lookout Spurs. This year they were 2-0 against SA with an average of around +5 points. Besides if Detroit can't stop Lebron what makes you think the Spurs will?(he averaged like 27 points per in those 2 games)

The bald guy wearing #12 for the Spurs might have something to say about it

if lebron gets going, imo, even the 'bald-guy, #12' ( ) of SA, can't stop him

Fri Jun 01, 2007 9:41 pm

Most likely he won't. Unless he sticks his foot out again ;)

Some of those shots were just ridiculous though. Hopefully he hasn't peaked too early.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:18 pm

Lebron might get going , but so will that guy who wears #21 for the Spurs. It's the reason the Spurs would win the matchup 4-2. Those guys who wear #9 and #20 might help contribute too.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:25 pm

He fucking killed the Pistons last night big time. Proved doubters wrong with some of the jumpers he made. Cavs to the Finals. Billups should opt out. They aren't getting any younger.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:26 pm

#7 also had a great series against the Jazz. What the fuck are we even saying any more?

The Spurs are too deep for the Cavs. I can see Cleveland grabbing a couple at Quicken Loans, but ultimately, with no answer for Duncan or Parker, Cleveland cannot win.

Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:31 pm

If Cleveland go to the Finals, it will remind me of the 76ers going to the Finals with Iverson....a one man offensive show with a grind it out, defensive team behind him....either way, I'm skipping the NBA Finals this year as there is not much interest in it for me....

great game by lebron. i think the fact that the cavs might even make the finals is really good enough. no one expected them to get this far and if they make the finals i dont think anyone at all can honestly say they thought that(though some fan boys will say they did) would happen. so if they do get there then thats great. give the team another year together and another good player to compliment lebron and the cavs could turn into a pretty damn good team

you got a good point there but as a fan i wasn't really expecting much this year so getting past the east finals is good for the franchise

thats gotta be one of the most amazing performances ever. however, james needs another big night or pistons could take this series back.

also wondering if stu jackson is going to suspend mcydyess. on tnt he said that he was not sure

Sat Jun 02, 2007 3:01 am

Great game by LeBron is being ruined by the media for me. They're dubbing it "one of the greatest playoff performances in all NBA history."

Give me a break. I swear these media people started watching basketball 2, 3 years ago max.

I think LeBron should buy Daniel Gibson a new rolex. In the last 2 games where every point mattered, he's been an X-Factor that i wouldn't think could play against the likes of Billups. This series would be 4-1 by now without Gibson.

whats with people referring to SA players with their jersey numbers.. I had to look at their roster to see who you guys were talking about lol. Bowen and Parker had a hard time containing Deron Williams so do you guys think they could actually take Lebron? Lebron will have a hard defender on him but he will still get his buckets. It will be interesting if Cavs go to the finals even though SA will take it this year. It was basically the whole Detroit team vs James in two overtimes last night and it was amazing performance by james..

If it comes down to Cleveland vs San Antonio and Cleveland puts up a good fight, I'd say it'd be interesting enough to keep alot of people in their seats. But if it's Detroit vs San Antonio, it'd be just another bore-fest imo.

Sat Jun 02, 2007 7:04 am

Wow  LeBron was amazing yesterday, Cleveland has to finish it out in Game 6. If they do, its an easy way to the Championship for SAS.

Sat Jun 02, 2007 8:43 am

only thing thats bugging me about this is everyone is saying how lebron has arrived, or the king is finally ready to reign, or get ready for the lebron age. granted this game was amazing and it could mean great things for the cavs and more so his future, its still just 1 game. without a follow up performance to put detroit away it was just a waste

personally i think if the cavs do get through, the spurs will be more concerned about containing the rest of the team.

although you are right - it is only one game, one just gets the feeling that it gives lebron incredible confidence having tasted this. It just feels like he is developing a very dangerous killer instinct. then again, he can screw up royally next game, and we'll remember him for that. who knows.

that said I have never seen a physical specimen quite like the guy. i can't help feeling excited about the way he plays. its good for the nba, although i thought the nba was fine, because it reckons back to the excitement around magic and mj, etc.. Not in a replica sort of a way, in a real, authentic, way it feels on par.

i mean usually the hype is followed by next mj, or heir revelations, but in this case its like he's not the next anything. just the first lebron. i remember feeling the same way about past said greats.
