deffinateally, if they get to the finals and win he's got the Finals MVP locked up.

Again, should have been Regular Season MVP again tbh -_-

Everytime I watch the Mavs I'm always reminded of that 61-62 with Kobe.
I still want them to win the series though. I don't want the Suns to be walloped by Miami in the Finals. :D

:?

The Suns would destroy the Heat in a 7-game series...the problem is getting to the Finals.

Sat Jun 03, 2006 1:29 pm

Destroy them?..don't be ridiculous. Mavericks would most likely beat the heat..(unless they build some major chemistry)...but not the suns. The suns have shown that they struggle against teams not as good as miami (lakers/clippers)...and the mavs are about to finish them in 6.

Sat Jun 03, 2006 1:33 pm

Something tells me im gonna be a big big mavs/suns fan in the next few weeks.

Sat Jun 03, 2006 9:22 pm

U should be a Mavs-Fan. Tonight the series will end.
Miami is good, but Dallas is better :)

Sun Jun 04, 2006 10:28 am

Hopefully the heat in Phoenix will affect the Mavs? Jesus, it's hot today...

Sun Jun 04, 2006 10:44 am

Right now all regular season matchups with the Heat are proving false.

They're destroying all opposition right now, ever since the Nets blew them out at home they've been on fire.

Looks like there could be a game 7 the way the game is going right now.

Is Diaw the new God or something? 26 points, 10 rebounds. Scores are even though.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 12:57 pm

Dallas closing out strong. Nash and Marion seem to be fading and I gotta give Avery Johnson alot of credit for this team's success this year. Dirk seems to be showing us who the true MVP is. Mavs looking like they are about to book their NBA Finals ticket.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:06 pm

its almost the end for the suns for the 05-06 season, Dallas is up by 10, with about aminute or less left. Props to the suns, no matter if the lose this and go home or continue. Imagine how deadly the suns could have been if they had Amare Stoudemire  .

Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:09 pm

Wow, it's crazy how bad Nash is when he's tired. But I just noticed it's even more amazing how two MVP-caliber players (Nash and Dirk) can be so bad defensively.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:14 pm

Its official, Dallas wins 102-93. Should be a good finals.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:15 pm

AND THE FINALS ARE SET!!! The Mavaricks have knocked out the Suns. The final score was 100-93...or was it 102-93? Adrian Griffin had a light dunk in the end when he was just all alone, wasnt disrespecting, just waited just when time went out or something, but TNT counted it. The Dallas Mavaricks will be playing the Miami Heat for the Championship! Two first time teams heading into the finals this year. Both the Heat and Mavaricks have never been in the finals before. Should be a good series. (Y)

Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:16 pm

NICE! So happy. Heat vs. Mavs

The stats in the 2 games they played favor Dallas but that doesn't really mean anything. Can't wait for the series. Too bad we have to wait until Thursday.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:48 pm

Lousy Mavs. What kind of stupid team decides to play well against my favourite team.

Oh well, they controlled the tempo masterfully in teh second half. Kudos to them.

Now who are the Suns drafting?

Sun Jun 04, 2006 2:17 pm

I like what Charles said about this being the last chance for Dallas to beat the Suns with Amare coming back next year to take the pressure off of Diaw and make him an even bigger threat. Phoenix had an amazing year and and an even better year, in my opinion, than last year when they had Joe Johnson, Q-Rich, and Amare playing. Next year will be Phoenix's year to shine.

I'm looking forward to the Finals, should be a very exciting matchup and I look for this series to go six or seven games with Miami winning the championship.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 2:32 pm

Well, Suns just don't have the size to compare with Dallas, and Avery
Johnson is the coach of the year so Mavs have a high percentage
of being albe to win this series, even though of course Suns
will be fast for Mavs, with Jason terry and Devin Harris
and Josh Howard +Dirk (clutch Player), but Suns do
have talent but just not enough it was a good seires.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 4:09 pm

Ah well...if it was going to happen tonight, it would've happened on Monday night. It's just unfortunate it had to happen in front of the Phoenix fans.

I'm disappointed that the Suns lost, but I'm proud of what they accomplished this season. Many people thought they would barely make the playoffs, let alone make the WCF. Kudos on a good season, and also kudos to the Mavs on a better season. G'Luck to them in the finals (I'll be rooting for the Heat  )

I can't even express how excited I am for this upcoming season. A possible starting lineup of:

Nash
Bell
Marion
Diaw
Amare

How deadly would that be? However, I wouldn't be surprised to see some changes this offseason. I definitely don't expect Tim Thomas to be around next year. Hopefully with that lineup, the Suns can be a force on offense AND defense next year. And with Amare and Marion, I don't see the Suns having any rebounding troubles.

The future in Phoenix is bright! We've got the 21st and 27th pick.

Also, some people forget that the Suns recieved a first round draft pick from Atlanta in the Johnson/Diaw trade.

The Suns will receive Atlanta's own first round pick no later than the 2008 NBA Draft. That pick which is "lottery" protected (1-14) in 2006, has protection through No. 3 in 2007 and has no protection in 2008.

There's a very good possibility that will be a high draft pick.

EDIT: Can someone set up a Suns' offseason thread?

EDIT #2: Anyone here a member of phxsuns.net? I browse the site every once in a while, but I believe you have to be invited...you can't just register. If anyone could hook me up I'd appreciate it...

This can be it, I'll just change the name.

Sun Jun 04, 2006 4:20 pm

21. Jordan Farmar
27. Saer Sene

:P

Sun Jun 04, 2006 4:55 pm

Yeah like i said earlier, Farmar should be our/phoenix's first pick. Cheers rongotai!

Sun Jun 04, 2006 5:11 pm

Thanks Colin.

What does everybody think regarding Shawn Marion? Personally, I hope he stays. The only reason Sarver would trade him would be to save money, and that could only be bad. I don't see the Suns getting equal value back in a trade involving Marion. Personally, I'd like to see the Suns keep everybody who was a part in the normal rotation; re-sign Thomas, extend Diaw and Barbosa's deals. We can have the same team return, with Amare in the middle and a couple of draft picks to strengthen the bench.

I'd like to see the Suns draft Saen at the 27. At 21, I'm not so sure...I'd like Hilton Armstrong, but I don't see him falling that low. I guess the best bet would be to draft a backup PG, but I'm not too high on Farmar, and Mardy Collins is more of an SG than a PG. Imagine Rondo and Barbosa together in the backcourt...fastest backcourt ever?
