Yes.

You didn't get Sauru's post, right? You made yourself look like a moron there

If he was being sarcastic he didn't do a very good job.

Is it just me, or is NBA.com really overexaggerating Davis's dunk by asking a poll if it as potentially "the best dunk of all time" or where does it rank. The dunk was good, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it the best dunk of all time in the NBA. Of recent times, I can only recall Kirk Snyder's dunk of Von Wafer... dayumn. That dunk would be with me forever... absolutely ridiculous. The fact that it was by Kirk Snyder didn't do much... but if it was like, Lebron, Carter, B.Davis, T-Mac or J-Rich, that dunk easily would've had crazy response for it.

I don't think it's exaggerating, it's just a first opinion to start with.

I agree that at the very least it should be 2-2 if it weren't for Okur knocking down a shot from his back, some free throw misses, and then another last second shot. First game of the series was really lucky on the part of the Jazz also as you shouldn't have to consistently depend on such late game heroics to win a home game.

Either way, it's 3-1 now. Likely over, but the Warriors have been right there in every game. It wouldn't surprise me if they stretched this series out given that fact. Regardless, I think this was a highly successful season for the Warriors and we now know that this team if healthy will likely be in the 4 - 6 range in the western conference next year. I think shooting will be a thing to look for in the off season. The Warriors shoot a lot of 3's and make a lot, but they don't have a pure shooter per se. Harrington is having a good year from 3, as is Jackson, but aside from them, the Warriors dont have tradionally consistent shooters. Maybe Nellie's system has allowed them to become good... I can't really say. But I think it's safe to say that adding a Mike Miller or someone of that caliber would be a great pickup for the Warriors who do have some flexibility with Dunleavy and Murphy gone.

... yeah that wasn't playoff related but I felt like discussing.

The jazz were very lucky to win in game 2. But the best it would be for GS is 2-2. They did kind of give game 2 to the jazz, but hey there is a reason they are the 8th seed.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily a hatred for the Jazz as much as people getting behind the underdog. It's not every year that the bottom seed pulls off the upset in the first round or a low seed goes deep into the Playoffs. I guess a lot of people want to see the "Cindarella" run continue as long as possible.

i like the jazz alot more than the warriors, thats for sure. infact the warriors are near if not at the bottom of teams in the nba for me. biggest reason for that is jackson, god how i hate that son of a bitch

I really enjoy watching Warriors play with the fastbreak, since Nuggets are out i've hopepd on their playoff bandwagon. They got to turn it on offensively and make at least like 15 3's out of 33 they shoot.

This is true. If the Jazz were playing anyone else, a lot more people would be right behind them.

I have hated the Jazz and Warriors for as long as I have been watching the NBA, but the Warriors are too fun to not root for, especially since I am big fans of each one of their big 3 in this years playoffs - Baron, Jason and Stephen. Monta is a very nice young player and I began liking Biedrins after he helped my fantasy team immensely, so I have followed him close all season (along with Baron, also on my team). Not to mention Azubuike, he's the shit, I wish Nellie would play him.

So yeah, I'm a fan of 6 of their players, so I can't help but root for them even though I have hated the Warriors as a whole for so long. I disliked the Jazz even more, so I'm rooting for a Warriors win to continue the cindarella run.

As Hinrich 12 said, it's tough to root against the underdog so naturally more people are hoping for a Jazz loss. It would be different if they were playing an even or superior team.

EDIT: So I guess this is where the Warriors great run comes to an end. As I have been saying to myself all playoffs, Matt Barnes lacks the basketball IQ to really make it in this league. He can shoot, defend, he's athletic, quick, etc. but he makes way to many bone head plays or takes bad shots and tonight was no exception.

Barnes and Pietrus accounted for 2 and possibly 3 of the Warriors losses.

Good Luck in the next round Jazz, congrtulations.

Take a guess at how long it takes for the Warriors fans to disappear... My guess is less time than it took for the Heat bandwagon to move out.

Looks like their "Cinderella" story is over. The Warriors lived by the three and they died by it. Props to Fisher for making big shots down the stretch and AK47 to stepping up in the playoffs. Losing Fisher has to be biting the Warriors in the ass.

Wed May 16, 2007 3:37 pm

JAZZ!!!! Okur, Williams and Boozer have to keep truckin' and AK-47 needs to keep his groove going if they're going to go to the Finals again.

Nice season by the Warriors though-if injuries don't hurt them and they don't lose their ability over the offseason, they should have potential to win 50 games+

Wed May 16, 2007 3:38 pm

W00T! Nuff said.

Who will be bandwagoned now? I'm guessing if Phoenix wins Game 5, they will be the ones...

Wed May 16, 2007 4:17 pm

I didn't like ak47 But now I HATE HIM

and fuck the referee that called a foul on Barnes on the late free through

I Love you BARON and waiting for the next season meybe after trading Foyle

Wed May 16, 2007 4:27 pm

kick start the nets wagon eh? I do really hope the guys win tomorrow though. Not sure if Vince will get another shot at a conf final appearance.

There was a little acting job but Barnes ran into him (the game was over anyway). It's not like GS flopped at all during the series. Davis was getting almost any call he wanted on Williams the entire series.

Wed May 16, 2007 9:28 pm

god, watching golden state is infuriating sometimes. three after three, especially when they are stupid threes! ugh. you just want to hit some common sense into stephen jackson.... and then, of course, he makes one. go figure. i can't say i really like anyone on golden state, but my like of baron davis ever since ucla outweighed my combined dislike of the rest of them. as for utah - boozer kind of annoys me, and i hate derek fisher very very much (i'm trying to figure it out where it started - i think some occurence vs houston against price...).... so I was sorry to see golden state lose.

but they were exciting. good luck to the despicable jazz, and props to the warriors for almost giving me a fuckin heart attack.

I was afraid that this would happen... Jazz winning the series 4-1... I am not surprised by this fact at all. Warriors ran out their emotional momentum in beating the Mavs and simply could not over achieve any longer.

And you really can't go as small against Jazz as you can against the Mavs and that is what the Warriors excelled at in the play-offs.

It was a good run and Warriors sure made them everyones favorite under dog in the play-offs... But as it often is with the NBA and basket ball, the stronger team usually comes out on top... Warrriors bandwagoneers were really deluded if they thought Warriors could even win the whole she-bang after that first round upset... Sure it was impressive and unexpected, but the fact that this was the third time, read again third time in NBA history that an eight seed beat a first seed in a 16 team play-off is a telling fact. New York had a similar story in 99, but they fell in the conference finals, but it was fun to follow back then too...

Still, I'm saying that I'm not jumping on this bandwagon... Cause I never really was on it... I've always like Baron Davis and I always will... Hopefully he will get a healthy season next year and they get more players that can play the style Nelson likes to run... Key word being Run... These guys can make some noise if they can get some good legged big men to guard good bigs of the league... If Boozer/Okur/Kirilenko had some opposition under the basket, this might have been a series...

Good season for the Warriors... And some legendary play-off moments to boot...

I'd even go so far as suggesting they'd be attracting similar support to the Warriors had the Mavericks advanced, given they'd be in the underdog role instead. Considering they'll be in that role no matter who comes out of the Suns/Spurs series it wouldn't surprise me to see more people get behind the Jazz particularly if the Spurs are the team to advance.

This is the best run for the Warriors in years. Hope they get back next season.

Tue Aug 07, 2007 3:01 pm

Very glad that the Warriors resgined Matt Barnes, my favorite Warrior after Davis.
Could have signed with another team for more money, but he fits in with the Warriors and they gave him a chance to shine.

Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:27 pm

he resigned cause he didnt get the kind of money he wanted.

Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:52 pm

^

I heard that Barnes wanted to be back in Oakland the whole time, but his agent insisted on going for a bigger contract. He apparently basically said "Screw my agent, I wanna stay here" during a one on one talk with some Oakland reporter during the Mavs series.

Wed Aug 08, 2007 3:14 am

interesting. it could turn out bad for him in the long run, money wise, but if he is happy there then good for him.
