Kobe is taking jump shots though. It's like the Wolves/Lakers series we weren't getting the calls because "we were taking jump shots". Dido for the Lakers now.

The Pistons are still getting the better end of the ref's calls. But part of that is the Lakers are being very, very lazy on defence. Three things that stuck out: Devean George walking away from acharge opportunity, Medvedenko not even putting his hands up on Memo's 3, and Payton letting teh backdoor go bye because he wasn't watching the ball. That is all (n)

I don't think it's about the referee, it's about the lakers. Stop making stupid fouls far from the action. Shaq is not playing this game at all for foul troubles, and except for that one on Prince, he comitted them trying to take a position down low. I don't want to see those fouls, they are completly useless and will cost the title.

The ref let both teams play way to physical. There were a few times that Kobe went to the rim and he was fouled, and 1 time absolutely hacked but still no whistle, Slava also had it, Rasheed Wallace had it aswell...Just call the game fair, if you dont blow the whistle the first time then you might aswell get off the court because it gets very anoying that all of the sudden they do call fouls when 1 of the teams is in a good scoring run.

The Lakers started out really good, GP was not walking the ball but pushing the ball, alot more off ball movement, and way better hustle in the defense then the previous 4 games, it kind of dissapeared in the second quarter, but Im sure someone will motivate them in the lockerroom to play like that again, Sheed made some mistakes by letting Slava hit the wide open 15 footers which is a big mistake and Im sure he learned from it now, and the Lakers did the same thing with Mehmet Okur who made a big 3 after Rush hit the buzzerbeater 3 to cut down the lead to 7.

The offense is getting back for the Lakers, but right now the defense is killing them, terrible weakside defense to give the Pistons the open shot, and there is no help on the helpside, which Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton use very well. If they focus on these things then I can say that we have a close game.

Its a good thing to see Kobe going inside, only if the refs would help him which they didnt. Just keep going inside and find the open man instead of drawing the foul because they wont call it, If the Lakers keep playing like this, then I will congratulate the Detroit Pistons on winning the 2004 NBA Championship, if the Lakers keep slashing and find Shaq, and work on the helpside in the defense, then I say lets go back to LA.

24min left in the laker season and kobe's laker career possibly lol

Yeah, I have been thinking about that....Also, because of the offcourt charges against him, he also might play his last game as a proffesional basketball player, he always says he plays with the "Play every game as it is your last" mentallity, this is the time that those words need to get in his head, because it can be very close to reality that he might play his last game.

What I just saw gives me little hope for the lakers. 17 point lead, then they catch up, then a tech... I'm having doubts to whether the lakers can pull this off.

It's over. The young players are in, they're screwing up, rushing shots, and the 4th just started.

No excuses -- the Lakers sucked!

I feel bad for Payton and especially Malone. You could tell Karl really wanted to be in there but he just couldn't. Hopefully the two will be back next year for one more run.

Congrats to Chauncey on the MVP.

to most of the laker fans out there -- you played a good playoffs, beating some very good teams, sadly detroit just turned it on in the finals big time. You guys should still be happy because at least you have had your dynasty and run of 3 championships which is more than most teams can say.

anyway, I think this marks the real end of an era just like when detroit beat la in 89. good game and screw you for beating my spurs :D , but thats ok cuz my 2nd favourite team (since LAST season. read it.) won, so god bless.

 ........... now.......

Great job on the first ever five-game sweep by the Pistons. ;)

If only the fans didn't boo when Stern congradulated the Lakers. They didn't do it when the Pacers were congradulated, too bad they did it now. :(

Total domination...
