That's just his play in one quarter of one game. He's been huge for the Heat all season, especially with Shaq not at 100%. Yes, he didn't come through in Miami's biggest game of the season, but you don't trade away talent like that because of one game, especially when that talent is only his second year and doesn't have much big game experience.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 2:44 pm

The reason why Heat lost is because Stan Van Jeremy isn't experienced in these late situations. If they had Pat Riley or Phil Jackson as a coach the Heat would of passed the ball to Shaq and let him do his thing.

Also in the final minutes, the Heat fouled Chauncey Billups.... they could of double teamed Chauncey Billups and let someone other then Chauncey Billups shoot free throws, who shoots 90% at the line

Tue Jun 07, 2005 2:49 pm

Fine, but do you seriously think that the finals would be that ugly?

No, not that ugly, at least not all the way through. San Antonio is a much better offensive team than Utah. I do however think there will be some brutal stretches.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 2:51 pm

I still think this series will be better and more entertaining than that Nets-Spurs series...

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:01 pm

i agree with the camp saying the heat should have kept on going to shaq in the end.

but the pistons really hurt the heat on the boards in this game.

the pistons experience, i think, was the key

lol The Game. i'm even surprised someone is replying to your shit. go back to bending over for the adulterer

That goddamn ballhog Wade. It's a;; his fault!! Why doesn't Miami get rid of that jackass?

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:04 pm

I think you've made your point furious. :?

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:22 pm

Yeah sorry Andrew. :( Isn't it winter there? That's gotta be interesting.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:25 pm

you have to admit that halftime buzzer beater was a sweeet shot

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:26 pm

Andrew you need to have some faith in this series.

That game against Utah was horrible.

Defense owns, i dont really like those high octane games. I don't mind them when teams play D. It sucks watching a game where guys constantly get open shots or the defense barely raises a hand to contest a shot. Great games are where players contest EVERYTHING and the score still ends high. Defensive games are highly competitive.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:33 pm

I'll be watching the series, it's basketball so I'm not going to hate it. But I look to see good offensive execution as much I like to see players giving an effort on defense. I don't like to watch games where both teams are shooting around 30% and scoring about 15 points a quarter as a result. I like to see action and good play at both ends.

I'd agree that great games exhibit great defense where shots are being challenged yet there are still plenty of baskets scored. But I wouldn't call those defensive games per se, I'd call them balanced. And let's be fair, even a great defensive team can't contest every shot. That to me is also fun to watch, when a team executes to perfection on offense and gets the open shot, even though the defense has done everything possible.

He'll surely learn many lessons from his first conference finals experience. History has always shown that contenders always suffer some painful losses before winning the championship.

As long as it's not something like 68-50. I still think that games like 77-74 is better than something like 134-100. For me, great games are those which are decided by the final minute.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:42 pm

I agree, unless it's the Bulls winning or I really don't care for the team that's losing. In those cases, I'll enjoy a blowout victory.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:52 pm

Man one time I built a Clippers team that was all 90+ and won 75 games. That's the Spurs right now.

your not the only one surprised adulterer (Y)

Tue Jun 07, 2005 4:47 pm

So who else thinks the Pistons are going to get murdered by the Spurs?

Tue Jun 07, 2005 4:51 pm

I don't think they'll get murdered, but I think the Spurs will win and the series isn't going further than six games. I'm picking the Spurs basically for the same reason I picked them to win the Suns series; they're a balanced team that can win playing up-tempo or grind-it-out. It's difficult to win against a team that can beat you at your own game.

Anyway, that's a discussion for the San Antonio/Detroit thread.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 5:08 pm

i'll be shocked if either of this 2 teams beat the utah jazz record for the most lowest scored finals ever

Tue Jun 07, 2005 5:31 pm

idiot damon jones

moron missed a jumper that could've put them ahead and then misses a god damn free throw that could've pulled them within 1.

i hate detroit i can't wait for bowen and ginobili to unleash some hell and piss off the entire pistons squad. this is coming from a guy that hates how they both play

Tue Jun 07, 2005 5:35 pm

but you hate detroit more than the spurs.that makes detroit your hatiest team. i'm guessing the ratings for the finals will just be a little higher than in 2003, but not that high egads only a few dare to be detroit fanatics

Tue Jun 07, 2005 5:40 pm

I'm so sad to have known that Miami Heats had lost :(

Maybe they lost because I wasn't watching the game (because I was at work) :(

Tue Jun 07, 2005 5:48 pm

you could atleast sneak out to the nearest cafe or soemthing like we did. the games are played here in our country 9 am-12 so easy to sneak out.but too bad for night time workers...anyways to be honet i was rooting for the heat too...maybe i'm the jinx. every team i root for this year got eliminated (N)

I'm with you there Drew, they're finally (apparently and no pun intended) to show some games on ESPN, and it happens to be 4 to 7 games of 30% shooting.

By the way, it's already a great accomplishment for Heat to get it this far. (Y)
Heat had lost to injuries, that's all. If players were healthy, result might be different.
Anyway, it's all down to Spurs vs Pistons.
Best Luck to both of them.
