Actually, they only got him so they could clear some salary cap space for next season (2004-2005). They're trying to rebuild their team again. Plus Brandon can't even play in the NBA anymore, his injury just fucked his career up big time.

On top of that they have added another soft shooter... Hope Mcdyess can play some good/82 game season ball. For the Knicks sake it would be good if this deal fell through.

lol.KVH hasnt done anything?????
97-98 in NJ- 19.7 points per game in rookie season! 6.60 rpg
98-99 in NJ 21.8 ppg and 8 rebs per contest.
00-01 in NJ 19.2 ppg and 8.50 rebs per contest.
01-02 in NJ 17 ppg and 7 rpg.
02-03 in PHI 15.9 ppg,and seven rebs per game.

he hasnt done nothing ahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahaah!lol lol

he will be leader in knicks i think!

Hmmm the wolves are looking nice but I still don't think it's enough to topple the Kings, Mavs, Spurs or Lakers. They just upgraded from getting eliminated in the first round to getting eliminated in the second round. As far as NY goes, that trade does nothing for them, Van Horn is soft and will be eaten up by the media in NY. :?

Well, Spree will make around 12 per in 2 more seasons Scub, while KVH will make 43 in 3 seasons... Who's more expensive?

Bad deal for NY...

Actually Spree will make around 13 per year but I see your point, I saw Van Horn is expensive as well but notice is not the same to use a SG (6-5) playing guys like Tim Thomas, Kucok & the same Van Horn. At least if you use a guy like Van Horn, you don't have that (size) disadvantage. The size of Spree was more or less below their eyes, not seeing that happening with Van Horn who is reported as 6-10. Yet the trade hasn't been made official, Atlanta is trying to get Marc Jackson in the same trade.

I see the Wolves getting over Dallas and possibly the Queens in any Playoffs series, they would have Cassell, Spree, Wally, KG & Kandi and those 5 would be a pretty solid team with Hudson coming from the bench, those 5 are even better than the 5 starters Dallas & the Queens have in general. The bad thing would be the bench but the Wolves still are on time to get better.

sprewell can idd play the SG again(wally will play SF, not otherwise, the wolves wanted to do this sometime now), minny did great deal idd, and i actually see them beatin dallas and even the kings, though for all i know in the west they could be the eight seed, it will be playin with little differences in number of games won, great for philly too(i hope), atlanta well, they had to do something, and then there is NY, they really seem to take all expensive contracts but i think there could be another trade comin

Thu Jul 24, 2003 7:22 am

KG can play SF with Spree at SG and marc jackson at PF or Ndudi Ebi.

of course i watch nba games!

Any besides Spurs and Nets games?

Thu Jul 24, 2003 7:25 am

KG can play SF with Spree at SG and marc jackson at PF or Ndudi Ebi.

timberwolves will likely to trade jackson too

Thu Jul 24, 2003 7:27 am

I compared Sprewell and Van Horn (stats) from last season ...

Good news for sixers fans, sixers got Big Dog and Marc Jackson in the 4 team trade. :)

two for two so far. first the wish for kvh to go comes true, now the one for adding a big man comes true, one more time everybody, philly needs a consistent outside shooting threat. and if this happens, someone please leave six numbers between 1 and 58, i promise to share if the numbers hit. jk

Atlanta acquires Terrell Brandon from Minnesota and the rights to forward Randy Holcomb and a future-protected first-round pick from Philadelphia; Minnesota acquires Latrell Sprewell from New York; the Knicks acquire Keith Van Horn from Philadelphia; and Philadelphia acquires Marc Jackson from Minnesota and Glenn Robinson from Atlanta.

as i said on nbalive.org forum,im gonna party caue sixers got the center!!!!but why did they have to trade 1st round pick?well,i think they didnt want to give up greg buckner...then they wouldnt traded randy holcomb (last years 56th or 57th pick) but buckner is better than some 1st round pick witch sixers would get (20-25 pick)

Thu Jul 24, 2003 8:39 pm

The 76ers have traded forward Keith Van Horn to New York; and the rights to forward Randy Holcomb, a future-protected first-round pick and an undisclosed amount of cash to Atlanta. Other aspects of the deal involve, the Knicks sending guard Latrell Sprewell to Minnesota, and Minnesota trading guard Terrell Brandon to Atlanta. Additionally, the 76ers reacquired its own 2006 second-round pick from Atlanta, originally dealt to the Hawks as part of the draft-night acquisition of forward Efthimios Rentzias on June 26, 2002

well they gave up holcomb but will get 56th pick...

Sad day for us Knick fans :( Layden is just destroying this team. For the other teams good trades but not us, were now dead. Yeah, we traded Sprewell it's sad but it's more disastrous to have Van Horn on our team. Man, we know Van Horn can score at times but he's soft and he choked in the playoffs this year.

Props to Spree for those five years with us and I am starting the chant
"FIRE LAY-DEN! FIRE LAY-DEN!" :D

yes knicks get rid of old horse sprewell.he is bad player.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! OH MAN! YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

Thu Jul 24, 2003 10:17 pm

knick fans- don't worry too much, layden has got to be nearing the end of his usefulness in new york, and unfortunately they really wanted to get rid of sprewell since that injury thing, so they were bound to unload him for someone. what they really need to do is start getting some young talent and let them build some chemistry together for the coming years. layden is hurting them because his moves aren't looking all that good to upcoming free agents, whether they can free up money or not. most top tier players want to play for teams building contenders, and when the owners start to realize that he's not bringing in the type of players that will attract others he'll be gone.

The wolves might finally have help for KG :D I cant wait to see cassell, Spree, kandi, wally and KG on the floor togethter. Philly came out nice in this trade too. If everyone stays heathly the sixers and wolves are gonna be tough forces to be reckon with.
