k-mart's offensive game is unorthodox, like it or not, he's the nets best post player...

martin was doing a decent job on duncan putting pressure on him and denying good position in post in the first half. outside of him, the plethera of big men the nets have couldn't even hold duncan's jock strap (disappointing!).

this could have been coincidental, but wehn martin had to take a seat due to foul trouble in the 3rd qtr, the spurs made their run.

i think coach scott should have put martin in a lot earlier then he did in the 4th quarter. the spurs were putting the game away and the team needed him in there.

i was happy to see admiral have a good game (possibly due to 5 days rest?). but i think he could be playing a bigger role now since he has a size/talent advantage on new jersey's centers

He only plays well when he is being defended by a smaller less talented players.

I think it would be wise for Byron Scott to give Mutombo some more minutes. He brings a legit defensive presence in the middle. It may force Duncan into tougher shots and may deter Parker from driving through for lay ups. Mutombo is '7-"2 with a big wing span....the guy has won 3 or 4 defensive player of the year titles and he's making a huge $$$ might as well make use of the guy. Why else did they bring him to NJ?

As it happens, the Nets did win Game 2, 87-85. Now that's more like it. An encouraging sign that this series might go the distance. :D

yes sir, now we got ourselves a series. deke shakes off the dust and cobwebbs and provides a much needed spark for the nets. it's been a while since i've seen his patented "up and under travel move"

perhaps we shall see the nets pull a hack-a-duncan in game 3

btw, does martin have any move to right?

Good game for the Nets after a bad start. Kidd took over and showed why he's the best point guard in the league. That crossover on Parker and Duncan was crazy!!! Dikembe looked 10 years younger, we even saw some finger wagging.

Big win for the Nets, I think Mutombo should be used more by Scott and Jason Kidd stepped up offensively. Duncan should make his free throws, no question he is playing well in this series but he has to shoot his free throws, 3-10 is humihilating.

I'm probably way off, but isn't there an old adage in basketball, "go for the tie on the road, go for the win at home" when you have an opportunity for a final shot?

Jackson's shot was clean and proper, he just missed, maybe Parker should have tried to take it in and draw a foul or an uncontested layup.

But the shot was not out of order.

Tim Duncan choked at the free throw line again and again.

He was wide open...and he hates the Nets...because we were one of the 11 teams in the league who couldn't recognize his true talent back when he was horrible.

yeh on that, why didn't he get a tech?

I think he got away with it because he didn't do it immediately after the basket so the refs weren't watching him...he also did it towards the crowd and not the player. The NBA allows players to taunt the crowd (Reggie Miller bowing at center court, Jason Kidd's double middle-finger to Boston) but not each other.

(Y) , besides- unless your name is Ron Artest, that type of action doesn't warrant a tech

jackson's 3 pta in the end may be questionable and perhaps parker should have taken the ball to the hoop but hindsight is 20/20. jackson already drained 4 3pters already (i think) and just hit a 3pter on last the spurs last possession. if i'm spurs coach popovic(sp?), i'm more upset about all the TO's the team committed and the FT's duncan missed.

and yes, kidd's 'fake crossover' on duncan/parker was SICK

I am not looking back and using hindsight, I thought it when I saw it unfold. Everyone is sarcastic in this forum.

I don't think limp was attacking you with his comments; I took it as him reflecting upon his own views.

Spurs take Game 3 84-79, and a 2-1 series lead. Here's hoping New Jersey evens the series in Game 4. Anything for a 7 game series.

If you're like me and won't see the game until later on tape:

Nice games for Duncan and Parker. I see Duncan made up for his free throw line follies in Game 2.

Parker hit some huge shots, including some big 3's. Despite his size, Parker can score down low by using his nice little dropping floater which he used again tonight. I love Ginobili. This guy is fearless and does all of the little things. He had four steals, including an important one late in the game, and he also hit a tough baseline shot. Lastly, I'm glad Duncan hit some free throws in the end to help seal the deal.

this game was as ugly as it was fun to watch. as i watched the game, it didn't seem like duncan was having a good game. it seemed that parker and partly rose were carrying the team. but once again, TD had another quiet, solid game. rose had a nasty dunk on deke!

it's kind of a shame that kittles finally stepped up his play but only to see it go down the drain... man, sometimes i think the nets offense would be better off if collins would just stay back on the defensive end of the court
