Exactly, and he wants the cavs to pay him 10 mil for plays like that? Im sure if the same situation came around he would do the same thing all over again.

BTW, the guy talking is hilarious.

Obviously not NBA players, but I was speaking relative to other NBA players. If he was one of the top players in the league or at least one of the top players at his position then his stance would be more understandable. Maybe I'm reading too much into his words but to me it seems like he thinks he's some kind of star player and while I'd concede he's a better player than I'll ever be, I wouldn't consider him at that level in comparison to other players in the NBA.

Look at who is on the Cavs: Damon Jones, Eric Snow, Donyell Marshall, Larry Hughes etc. All those players are way overpaid and don't contribute the way Varejao does.

It's a fair call, I agree. Those players are all earning at least $4 mil per year and it's questionable as to whether their play is worth the money they're getting. But to come out and say your teammates aren't worth the money they're getting and that you're worth more is a tactless move in my opinion, even if there's truth in it.

I think it was certainly ill-advised but then what about Doc Rivers showing up on Tim Duncan's doorstep the moment free agent talks could begin (12:01 in the morning, no less) back in 2000? Duncan took that in good humour, inviting Rivers in and though no deal was ultimately done with the Magic the situation was supposed to have been quite cordial. Trying to bypass Fegan is obviously a no-no but if it was simply a matter of Ferry trying to appeal to Varejao on a personal level and not talking any dollars or contract specifics, much like Rivers did with Duncan back in 2000, then I don't see anything wrong with that. Of course, if he was trying to get a deal done behind Fegan's back then Ferry brought the latest problems on himself.

Hahahaha! I watched the whole vid lots of times and I ended up laughing so much.

It seems like he does view himself as a star player. I mean taking that shot rather than passing the ball back, and of course, the money he now demands...
