Good news for the Bucks. $52 million over six years is a reasonable investment in a player who's put together some good seasons for them, especially last year. He's very quietly become a quality player in Milwaukee.

There is 2 opt out clauses as well, at the end of the 4th and 5th year accordingly. So if he continues to play at a high level or develop further, or the Bucks realy suck donkey balls then he can get away earlier.

if he keeps improving he will opt out and demand more money, simple as that.

$8.5M a year v $5M a year is a big difference, even for a millionaire.

And i wouldn't consider Miami a free ring either, i don't think Miami is getting past the Cleveland, Detroit, or the Bulls next year.

certainly not a free ring. i would say that no team in the nba has a ride to a free ring. right now seems the favorite come playoff time will be the spurs but even they are not a guarenteed ring. kinda interesting now in the nba, sure the west overall is better than the east but still, you have 4-5 teams that have a realistic chance going to the finals from each conference.

i think it`s ok that he stayed in milwaukee. they traded TJ, they believed in him and there he has a young talented team.
why sign in miami? one day when shaq, glove etc. won`t be any longer in miami...what would it look like: mo&wade in the backcourt and the complete frontcourt trash

i respect his decision.A blog at MiamiHerald says "WE DON'T NEED HIM.HE COMMITS MANY TURNOVERS PER GAME".What if the heat signed him?Positive words?!?!

Aesop wrote:A FAMISHED FOX saw some clusters of ripe black grapes hanging
from a trellised vine. She resorted to all her tricks to get at them, but wearied herself in vain, for she could not reach them. At last she turned away, hiding her disappointment and saying: "The Grapes are sour, and not ripe as I thought."

Any fool can despise what he cannot get

I think that old fable sums up that blog entry. If Williams had signed with the Heat, the same entry probably would have touted it as one of the steals of the offseason.
